Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let all of you know about this as I am really excited about it. Hill Country Aero-Modelers (HCAM)in Austin, TX. has reached out to us heli guys and decided to ask us if we would like our own helicopter fun fly event to benefit needy children!! For the last ten years this event has been held in December and is usually an "airplanes only" event. But this year HCAM has reached out to the helicopter pilots and offered us our own event as well!! This event is called "Blue Santa" and what it is is a fund raiser for needy children. What they normally do is have a fun fly, auction, etc and all proceeds go to needy children. The "landing fee" is a minimum of $10 or a new toy valued at $10 or more. If you so choose you can pay(donate) a higher landing fee/donation as ALL PROCEEDS go directly to needy children. Now, the airplane event is scheduled for December the 10th and the auction will still happen on that day as well, but we will have our Helicopter Fun Fly the weekend prior, Saturday December the 2nd.

The helicopter event is scheduled for December 2nd 2006. There will be a pilot safety meeting from 8-8:30 a.m. and the flying begins at 9 a.m. This event is fully supported by HCAM and an announcement will be posted on their website today(I'll post a link as soon as their webmaster is able to get it put up on the site today). This event will run all day Saturday Dec 2nd and is a "Heli Only" event, so the field is ours for the entire day!!!

Guys/Gals, I'm appealing to you to try your very best to attend this event. This is our chance to show that we are responsible pilots that care about the field and the community, and besides this is to benefit needy children, so PLEASE come out and lets have some fun and help out some kids!! If we make this a good showing it will most likely be a yearly event.

I know this is short notice but we have been trying to get this setup behind the scenes and now it's on so lets make a strong showing. I will post more information as it becomes available. Would like to see a show of hands of who will be able to come to this great event. HCAM is reaching out to us, lets reach back and show what the heli community can do!!
