I'm running a
1600 kv mystery motor (started with a stock trex 1600kv motor, but switched it out for one that fit under the canopy).
Align RCE-BL6DG esc
Turnigy 6s 2200
13t pinion, 50t front & 61t main gear, stock one way gear (20t)
430mm wide chord Mavrikk blades.

5 minute 30 sec flight time, flying beginner 3d & FFF. Charge will replace on average 1500mah. So far batt, motor & esc temps have not topped 100 degree range, we will see what happens as the summer heats up.

Anybody shopping a power setup, take a look at this calculator by castle. Had I seen it before i setup my my motor i would of saved myself a crash! Be very careful with the Scorpion 3026-1400...it runs pretty hot and likes to turn off on hot days!!

I'm running a Hacker A40 1600kv with a Castle Phoenix 60 on 13/60/20/61, works out pretty good for fast sport flying. I get about 4:30-5:00 with 2650mah, everything comes down warm to the touch.

Hi,
Motor: Align 500M / 1600kv
ESC: Turnigy Brushless ESC 85A w/ 5A SBEC ( a very good governor function and soft start in gov mode ) (http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10331)
BEC: Turnigy 8-15A with Turnigy 2s / 800mah
Pinions : 14 / 60 / 19 / 61
7 min. with Turnigy 6s / 3000mah

Scorpion 3026-1600kv (6-pole, 8kHz PWM)
Phoenix ICE 100 (Set RPM mode at 2600, normal motor advance)
Turnigy 6s 2200 40C
15t pinion and stock gears (61T rear main, 19T one-way, 50T front main)
Stock plastic kit, no upgrades
430mm wide chord Mavrikk (Red) blade, sometimes the Align blades
Pitch +/- 10 degrees
Cyclic +/- 8 degrees

5 minute flight time, moderate 3D (loops, rolls, flips) & hard FFF (hard turns, stall turns, Immelman's, S-turns). I started as a plane pilot
Winter flying (32F - 50F): Motor temp ~97F, battery temp ~98F.

I used to run the above setup with the Scorpion 3026-1400kv (10-pole, 8kHz PWM) but motor temps were ~130F and battery ~115F even on low motor advance. And, the motor was hitting 100% output on moderate to heavy maneuvers. Fortunately, these motors are rated to 356F. Switching ot 1600kv brought all temps down and it rarely hits 100% output.

I'm using this motor, with stock gearing. and 14t pinion
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7243

a ice 75, and a dimention engineering sport bec, and a zippy 2650 40c battery.

waiting on parts to get it back in the air. had a CC standard bec, but somehow it fried and took out my bls251 tail servo.. I hope.. I hope it didnt toast the rest of the gy611 gyro setup.. I dont have money to replace the rest of that.

I should also state that I fly in Colorado at 5200' - 5500' altitudes. Thin, dry air makes a big difference. Though I haven't flown at sea-level, I hear the thicker air makes your heli more responsive and higher head speeds unnecessary.
