After reading countless forums and posts concerning this subject, can anyone offer advice on a good gasser for aerial videography?

My main question is, are there any specific aircraft to avoid?

Want something that can haul the heavier payload of the gyro stabilized filming rigs.

I'm biased as I own a Bergen. It was my first taste of a gasser and I do not regret it! Customer support is UNMATCHED and I noticed you live in UT...Gary Travis is in Sandy, UT (I think?) and is one of Bergen's sponsored pilots. He made a DVD for gasser setup that is great to follow.

I have a friend that I fly with that has 2 MA gassers and they fly beautifully as well. He only flies them for sport, not AP however.

I'd highly recommend Airstar International as they put out a really sweet product. Those who have these birds love them as they are well built from CNC metal, have a low parts count, reasonable price and are very reliable.

Their helicopters have been used in a bunch of movies, music videos and commercials.

They have not always been easy to contact on the phone, but they are extemely easy to contact via their customer care e-mail address that is located on their website.

If they are good enough for first rate productions in Hollywood, then that must be saying something.
