We are working with GAUI on a 330X gimbal design which will be offered by Gaui. Shown below is the base model with ground adjustable tilt. A servo driven tilt upgrade kit will be available.

110 grams. Attaches with Velcro. Able to hold cameras as wide as 115mm (4.5"). Price not set yet but expected to be very affordable!

I have to be honest. I would NEVER mount LG with an expensive camera with velcro. Just a disaster waiting to happen. Why not take the time to develop a safe way to mount it? The mount looks fine other than that.

Just a different point of view here...you'd be surprised how well industrial velcro will hold. I'd seriously bet that you couldnt shake it off with a camera attached if you tried. I use only velcro to attach some 4s and 6s packs in airplanes with no straps.

DJ,

Any update on the release date of this camera mount?

As you can see in this video. Using a GoPro Hereo camera with no zoom and seeing the legs just isn't working out for me....

This may be a stupid question but where does the battery go?

I just took the cheap camera gimbal and landing gear off my blade 400 and put it on my Quad 330x. I got the payload mount kit and I put the battery up there so I was wondering where it would go in your setup?

I'm currently pushing about 1050g with my setup, I can't wait for this to be available.

helidaho,

I took the original bottom plate that was replaced by the undermount setup and put it over the top. I went to Home Depot and bought some mounts and that's where I mount it.

Next issue is if I get a bigger battery from the 2100 then I'll need to figure out a different spot or something....

I've since made my own camera mount and now just need to get some landing legs. I guess I need to move on from the PSone setup no matter how cool it looks. :-(

PhotoshipOne,

I was taking a closer look at the photos you've posted and was wondering if the supports coming off the legs that attach to the camera plate are some kind of rubber to help with vibration isolation?

Of course my last question is... Did you and Gaui come to terms, will this ever be released?

Okay maybe that was a two part question.

I would still buy it as I'm still trying to find a good solution that is light weight, looks cool, and reduces vibrations to the camera.

helidaho,

Who even knows if PhotoshipOne will even release it. It's been months and not one word.

The infinity-hobby one broke on me so I might just look into getting this unit with the different legs.

What's nice about the this is that the legs shouldn't get in the way of the camera if using a GoPro because of not having a zoom lens.

Who knows....

update. As of now we have no intention of bringing this mount into production. Management at Gaui has changed this summer and our main contact has left the company. We hear Gaui will be releasing their own mount soon.

Thanks for the update, sorry to hear it didn't work out. Don't suppose I could buy your prototype? hehe :)

Come on boyz...make your own! I used fiberglass kite rods. The camera mount is made from aluminum and is self leveling. The shutter trigger is made from wood with a submicro servo all held in place with a 1/4-20 nylon screw. It works great with my Lumix LX3 and then moved forward for my GoProHD cameras.

Cool good job! Can you post other pics. Curious on how you mounted your servo. Also I like how you did the battery and then the camera mount. At first I was like that's not going to hold. But then saw the landing gear holding the camera mount.

Very creative!

Yep...I think it's waay over kill to be spending hundreds of dollars on a camera mount that you can do yourself.
It's more about smooth flying to get the shot than it is about the mount.
The more you can shoot like a 'Jib' the more money you will make. Here's some more shots:
Keep it simple.
