I need to get a receiver I always had the FMA Copilot and it had a receiver . I have a JR 9303 JR 368 on cyclic and Futaba 9254 on tail . How many channels do I need and what is the best Receiver out there in your opinion . Thanks

Your sig shows you have a FMA FS8 Rx in your logo right now.
Your topic is ap2000i, Is this for a new heli, or are you looking to replace your current FS8 with a new Rx and the ap2000i?
You ask how many channels?
I assume AP is your intention?
Do you have a 240 or 401 gyro?
Do you have a pan servo?
Do you have a tilt servo?
Do you have a trigger servo?

The AP-2000 requires the elevator, aileron, and pitch channel inputs. It also requires a "gain" control input.
So you'll have 4 channels from your receiver going to the AP-2000.
It will get it's power from the receiver through the servo leads that interconnect them.
If you use the FMA sensor, the AP-2000 will also have a cable from the sensor connected to it.
You'll also notice you get a much faster response on this forum :D

Well thank you Dreslism - Yes I am replacing the FMA and will be using the sensor on the tail . I do use a 401 gyro . Ap work is long off but for right now It is going to serve as a crash avoidance system till the AP gets started down the road . MLaBoyteaux as I explain to Drslism Ap is in the future so I would like to buy once and have have the room to expand . I was hoping to use the right slide switch as the gain setting like I did with the FMA . All I had to do is slide it back to me and no gain or off , slide it forward and it increases to half and full stable . Anyway I'm getting off course . I just need to get a good receiver for nor now .

Well, you could go with either an FM or PCM receiver. You'll need the basic 6 channels to control the heli, and another spare channel to control the gain for the AP-2000.
So depending on what transmitter you have, I would suggest a good 8 channel Futaba receiver, or if you think you'll be doing AP solo, go for a 9 channel PCM so you can contorl the tilt and shutter on the camera, too (if you've got a PCM transmitter).
I'm not familiar with the JR9303, but it should work fine with the AP-2000.

Yes that is what I have a JR 9303 and that was what I was just doing , looking at a few receivers . I found 2 that looked good , one is a JR 649 it is a PCM 9 channel 10s mini what ever that meant . But that was recommended to me by a fellow Logo pilot . And the other is a JR 549 it's also a 9 channel FM mini . So I have some research to do in the next couple days . Thanks again for your help .

Well I think I am going to get the JR-649 or the JR-549 . They are both 9 channel receivers and both PCM . So I hope I can narrow that down to one soon . Thanks for all your help . :)

The 649 is PCM and the 549 isn't, I would opt for the 649.

You'll almost never be sorry for going with top-of-the-line! :D Just as a note to clarify one of the above posts, JR transmitters are not compatible with Futaba receivers and JR receivers are not compatible with Futaba transmitters.
Happy flying!

I have a JR RS10DS PCM receiver with a JR 9Xv2 transmitter, with the AP2000i, and it works a treat
