Hi Guys,
I have a .30 V2 with the Marvik all metal head and tail. I have been hovering this bird a bit but have not finished the breakin. I am using a Futaba 14MZ Tx. I was wondering how to go about reducing the cyclic on one of these beasts. I am used to CCPM 120 and just adjusting the swash menu. For this set up there does not applear to be one. I have a ton of cyclic that I might appreciate were I flying 3D but for right now I would just like a nice docile bird to putz about with.
Thanks,
Dan

lower the ATV setting of the AIL and ELE servos.
you might also consider moving the ball on the servo arms IN by 1 hole (which would
lower things enough to probably require you to bump up the ATVs to compensate)

I would tame it down using expo in your radio. Be careful about limiting endpoints, as you may need it to save it from a crash. I believe with futaba, putting a negative value for aileron and elevator will smooth things out around center.

it's hard to tell if he needs to reduce ATV a bit or add expo or a bit of both without
knowing how many degrees of cyclic pitch he actually has.

true. I usually max out my swash movement until you don't get binding on the swash when the cyclic is in the corners. Then I use 10% expo to tame it just a tad. When I was learning though, I used about 35% expo.

Hi guys,
I had the heli out today and ran a few tanks through it doing not much more than hovering to finish breaking in the engine. I never actually gauged the total cyclic but I bet that I likely have about 20 degrees in all axis at least or just shy of the swash binding. I am tried setting the expo to 15 and it was much better, I might bump that up a bit tomorrow. It is not unmangeable just seemed to be very responsive to input, more so than my as of yet inexperienced hands found comfortable.
If I changed the ATV on the servo's to reign in the cyclic would this not have a detrimental effect (reduce) the pitch?
Thanks,
Dan

I would once again suggest not limiting atv's try using a little more expo.
