I am looking at the JR549 or the JR649 . I have a JR9303 radio flying a Logo10 w/JR368 on the cyclic and a Futaba 9254 on the tail . Going to install a Sparton ap2000i . So I need a good and dependable receiver . If not those 2 Which one that won't break the bank . Thanks a lot .

You do not want to use the JR 549 on a heli, it's an FM only unit.
The JR649 is the PCM version, and will absorb 'some' interference before going into a pre-programmed failsafe.

OK Wayne that's the one you suggested . And I didn't doubt you I just through one more in there to see . But I am getting the feeling that it is the one . Have you found it to be real reliable as far as glitches and lockouts ?

Wayne is there something better ? I would rather spend it now than spend it on repairs ?

the 'ONLY' lockout I ever had with one, another guy at the field showed up with a new plane and radio and didn't check the frequencies in use, He happened to be on mine.
I only have 5 JR649's, and only the one issue described above.
The only thing better IMHO are the sythesized Rx's, and I have 3 of those too. Pointless to have Syth Rx's without a Syth Tx module..

Wayne , What about a JR 950 ? I can get a good deal on one ? What do you think about that over the 649 ?

I don't see a 950 listed...?
I actually have the R2000's, the 955. 649's and a 770.
All are pretty equal, as long as they are PCM dual conversion you should be just fine.

HI Wayne I was able to get a great price on a hardly used JR-r900-s receiver w-the abc-w technology and spcm . He said it had @ 14 flight's and the picture looked like he took it right out of a box . Got it for $90.00 shipped to my house . I hope I did the right thing ?

Actually Wayne I found a bunch still being sold . A lot in the UK in 35MHz but still found some in 72 . So they are still making the . I put the one I bought in my gallery and as I said it looks like it came right out of the box . The antenna didn't even show any signs of wear . But if I got took , I guess I will be getting a new one next week . I thought about not buying it just because of it be a electronic part , but it did look like it was well taken care of , and even a squirrel gets a nut every now and then . :D
