View Full Version : 9CHPS and Blade CP

I just set up my 9CHP for use with my blade CP using the settings I found in one of the forums. Everything works good except for a couple small issues, if I have throttle hold engaged and the throttle stick at the lowest setting the three servos are straining as if they are trying to move the swash plate further than it wants to go and the same thing occurs when in idle up with the throttle set to full negative pitch. If I move the stick to about 1/4 throttle the servos stop buzzing.
Is the fix as simple as adjusting the end points on a particular channel or some other setting/setup in the radio or possibly some adjustments to the heli itself?
Thanks,
Kevin.

You should probably start from scratch and watch the Finless videos on CCPM setup. They are for a Trex, but the steps are the same.
What seems to be happening is you thare are running out of travel at low stick and binding the servos. Possibly the swash is not in the center of travel at mid stick and 0 pitch. ie the links from the servos to the swash are too short. But just lengthening them may cause other problems.

What Pinecone said..
Here's my $0.02 on copying someone else's radio programming:
Your mechanics and the other guy's mechanics - even if he set them both up - are going to be different.
Your electronics - specifically the servos - are going to be different.
The differences won't be severe, but will be enough to make the radio setup a little different for each bird.
Finless's CCPM vids are great for *ANY* helicopter and since he's using a Futaba 7CH, it's easy to "translate" to the 9CH..
I initially set up my CP like you did, but after struggling to control the thing, I started from scratch and set it up all over again. WORLDS of difference between plugging in someone else's numbers and doing it from square one.

Starting from scratch would be difficult for me as I have little idea what all the different settings do. I am new to heli's that is why i copied the settings that someone else had used. the heli actually flies quite good, i am just learning but with those settings i could actually hover for a couple seconds without touching the controls.
I have downloaded the videos you spoke and will start watching them,
Thank you.

The problem is in your pitch curves, when you go into throttle hold you then have to adjust the pitch curve assigned to (H)old or "H". Set that pitch curve to the values needed to eliminate any binding.
I Hope this helps, I don't have a 9chps, but I took a guess based on my other futaba experience.

That's the whole idea with the videos, to teach you not only how to set it up, but what and why you are doing it.

Actually, Finless's videos will help you get over that "I don't know WTF all of this stuff does" feeling. I wish I'd known about the videos before I got my 9CHP because I struggled with the <ahem> manual for several months before I learned of them.
I still refer to the vids on occasion to refresh my memory..
