Hi guys,

Has anyone had any luck setting up a Futaba MZ14 and a Throttle Jockey Governor? I am coming up empty on this one.

Dan,

I dont have the full info sheet right here, but on the 14 there is one thing you need to know.

Use channel 10 or 11 for the speed signal. The reason is....the signals go out in 2 batches to the rx. The revmax/TJ/ATG cannot have both the Throttle and RPM signal hit it simultaneously. They need to be staggered. By using 10/11 for the RPM signal, it staggers the signal from the TH info.

Otherwise, you set it up as published.

Hi Jerry,

I was not using G3 reciever, just a seven channnel 1024 Futaba RX. The problem is settingup the aux switch. By default the 14MZ sets up channel seven as the Governor channel. When I set a switch for that channel the TJ ignores it. When I go to the Functions menu and assign aux 1 to the governor channel (7) then assign a switch it will respond to the toggle to set up the TJ. When my throttle is above 30% it becomes active but will not respond to the Aux channel switch.

Since I am sort of doing this blind let me see if I have the general theory right. The wiring is relatively straight forward. For normal operation I use my normal throttle curves. If I toggle the Aux then the gov should kick in if the throttle is above the threshold (in my case approx 30%) and bring and keep the rpm at 1950 (or what ever is set as the ATV limit for the gov/aux channel). Is this accurate?

Is it possible to use the rather formidable governor functions that the 14MZ has at its disposal? Three governor settings per flight condition is rather cool but so far the TJ just ignors anything I attemp in there.
