I officially hate my blade. I was flying it and doing ok, but then started to lose it and flicked the throttle-hold. Oh yeah, that stupid thing does not have a throttle hold! So I sat there for a couple seconds watching it beat itself to death, you know, the chicken dance, before I hit the switch again.
I guess this is one point where all the time I have spent on G3 has been a detriment!
Since I am getting my TREX-450 next weekend, I get the repair parts and mess with it but I wont be putting any real money into this thing.
I guess I just hate the fact that they did not follow (at least my understanding of) the industry standard for the controls.Since the G3 has the idle up on the left, well. enough complaining.
Oh Well...........

Easy fix, get a new Tx that has throttle hold and use it. Hitec Optic 6 or Eclsipe 7, Futaba, JR 6102 or 7202 or 9303, whatever you will decide for your Trex.
I also found that some of the hopping up and down seems to be Tx related. I noticed that mine did it more once the Tx had one light go out. On a Hitec Eclipse 7 it does it a LOT less.

Other than resetting the receiver switch for the other radio, is there anything else that has to be done? If I can get it airborne, I would like to but will not spend any real money for upgrades.
Thanx!! :D

Well, if you go Futaba or Hitec it is MUCH easier. You just have to run through the Finless videos on CCPM setup.
JR requires swapping the Rx. I am in that process now.

That's seems the consensus on the cheap copters. Now that I have blown a grand on stupid little helis, it is time for a real heli. Getting my 450SE this weekend. Good luck on yours!

Of course the thing is, once you really learn to fly helis, you can go back to a Blade and fly it well. :)

Yeah, but I have read/heard and seen even the experienced pilots made changes/upgrades to make the cheaper helis fly decent. I will keep the old little ones, but cant see spending any real money to upgrade. I think my money would be better spend ton the rex, and/or more copters. After the rex, and when the wife gets over the sticker shock, I want a nitro bird and will begin that research. But the raptor does seem like a front-runner!

I agree with Pinecone, I started with a T-Rex and after successfully flying it around after 6 months I bought a Blade CP. I was doing inverted hovering, loops and rolls the second time I flew the CP. Nowhere near the trex capabilities, but it wasn't so hard to fly. I imagine if I had started with the CP I would be disgusted too, the CP is NOT for beginners, way too twitchy. Ive had my CP for 8 months now, and the upgrades I have done to it make it a much better machine. Brushless main, DD tail, HH gyro, Phx 10 ESC, Landing gear and my Futaba TX controlling it all. Great flyer now.

I Love my little bird (Blade CP Pro), I learned to fly after about 2 hours stick time, but years of fixed wings. I going for larger but for 229.00 I think you can't beat it. Just MHO :)

You'll learn to love the CP. I've actually never had batteries in the transmitter it came with, so I haven't had this problem before. The blade CP typically doesn't take too much damage from crashes which makes it great for play. T-Rexes are a lot less forgiving when they hit the ground.
