Trying to sort out some strange issues I'm having with my E-Flite G90 Gyro on my JR Parkmite (300 size, eCCPM, belt driven tail rotor). Here's my gear:
TX - Multiplex Royal Evo 7
RX - Berg 7
Gyro - E-Flite G90
Other - Managing gain settings via channel 5, tail servo via channel 4
My tail servo is acting very strange when connected to the Gyro. All symptoms below are non-existant when the servo is plugged directly into the receiver on channel 4 and fully replicated when a test servo is plugged into the gyro...so it isn't the tail servo.
1) When shifting to heading hold mode, the tail servo yaws full right with massive amounts of trim required to get the heli off the ground. However, response is pretty quick with the servo. Also, I cannot control the limits of travel via the radio so the controls are going full stop.
2) When gyro gain is set to off, the servo is very jittery (thought it was glitching until I plugged the servo directly into the receiver) and slow. However, it is centered properly and the radio can control the limits of travel to not overstress the linkages.
3) When shifting to standard mode, the heli will yaw slightly to the right and will require trim inputs to stabalize. Response is pretty quick with travel limits no longer managed by the radio.
4) Regardless of either mode, once centered, the heli will start to drift after a second or two, requiring constant fighting with the rudder stick (harder to fly than my fixed pitch, $100 Sabre!!!).
On the radio, all mixing is off for the rudder channel so the gyro has full control over channel 4. The gyro is set to analog servo mode to match my servo. Main rotor blades are balanced and tracking spot on. Tail rotor linkages are smooth as silk.
Did I get a bad gyro or is there something else going on that I'm missing? Please advise before I go insane!!!
