Hence the name Newbie, I just got done putting my Raptor 50 Titan kit and yes I do have the TT50 Hyper. The only thing that I do have together is the kit with the motor and I am ordering everything else tomorrow. Well here is my question. I am sure that most are ok with the JR 9303? Am I right next JR has a kit with that TX and 811'sDS servos and a 649 RX and it is 599.00 and then I can add on the Futaba GY401 w/servo for a grand total of 744.95. Now what I would like is some advice as to what I think that I am ordering tomorrow and to add anything else that needs to be added (I am running woodies as of now). I think that I can change the items in the kit for 15.00 a little much as far as I think but hey get what you want. Should I increase the battery right off or just buy another one and have one stock and one a little better. How about the RX battery? Well anyway I would like to thank everyone for any information that they can provide. Also can some people show me some good wiring be cause my next step will be putting the servos, RX, RX, battery. Well I thank every one for any information or pitcures.

TT50 hyper?

New motor?

9303 = great radio
811's = marginal for a 50, my buddy was putting gears in to get rid of slop in just a few months.
401/9254 = best bang for the buck, solid choice.

Get a decent receiver battery and a battery checker that puts a load on the batteries to test them.

Thank you very much for the advice. May I ask what size battery to go with I can not remember what size comes with the kit. It is the 9303 811 and 649 all together and for the live of me I can not remember the size. Well I just looked it up and I am not seeing a RX battery just a Tx battery "Transmitter (Tx) Battery Type: 600 mAh 9.6V" I bet it will come with one (I hope it does) but I am betting it will not be very big.

Just askign have you ever seen the FMA Co Pilot? Its not that much and sounds kind of cool maybe.... I would just lie all the help I can get when starting to fly if you know what I mean.

I been using Radical R/C batteries for several years without a problem, I'm not much up on all the lithium stuff thats out there.

The one I use in my 50 is on page 4 and its the 9th one down from the top.

24 does not seem bad at all. plus shipping. 2700 mah is a good bit as far as I can remember the stock one having I am thinking of around 700mah. Nothing compaired to the 2700. Thank you for the advice.

Congrats with the Titan! I am quite a Newbee too and have been flying (hovering + a few more bits ) this machine since July this year as my first ever RC kopter and all alone with no one around me to help. A few advices that have helped me along:

Take a look at www.raptortechnique.com - those pages has given me a lot!

Buy Ray Hostetlers 3 + 2 Authoritative DVD series on the raptor + setup and flying, itīs ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - an incredible learning experience!

Thank you Hookmaker very much. And thank you everyone else for all of the help and support.
Hookmaker, May I ask what kind of blades are you running now? and If you have switched to CF or Glass what made you switch?

As for me I am not sure I found this site that might help you search for it a little easer. http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/acatalog/BooksEtc_DVDs.html#aRAYSDVD45
Hope this helps you. I found that watching all of finless's videos help me out a great deal. I just had to use what I learned and apply it to a different kit. Have fun and Great luck.

Get the Videos directly from Ray himself at www.rayshelitech.com.

I use SAB 600mm CF blades - I donīt have a clue how good they are compared to other CF blades, but since I smashed my wooden stock blades on my first hover and I bought these as spairs, I use them now. They are a lot heavier than the wooden stocks though.
