G'day, just looking for some views on what's faster in a straight line. A standard bergen running 690 blades or one using 700 or 710's blades, assuming everthing else is the same.
I have yet to try any other sets of blades as my 690 carbontechs which are now getting onto 2 or more years old are still the same blades which I started with.
And I suppose as an extension to that 1st question, is the EB even faster with 810 blades.
Cheers

I'm not sure that the length of the blade dictates the straight-line speed of the helicopter. I would thing that is more a function of the head speed.
The longer the blade, the lower the head speed needs to be for the same amount of lift. Longer blades translate into more lifting power. Shorter blades provide faster cyclic.
The more air you push the faster the heli goes, simple action / reaction. Longer blades, most pitch, & higher head speed = the fastest senario.

WOW! Two years on the same set of blades. I'm lucky to get two weeks out of one set! My hats off to you :OMG
I started flying my EB with 800s, switched to 710s and I can't tell a difference in speed(changed pinion for the 710s). Head speed went from 1500 for the 800s up to 1650 with the 710s. All I've noticed between the two sizes is less cost when I crash

Thanks for the info, looks like a will just stick with what I'm using for now.
Maybe my next set of blades may be 700 or 710 just to try something new. As for lasting 2 years on one set of blades, I have to confess, 9 months of that was not in use due to change of jobs, moving house etc, and I'm quite cautious flying my bergen. The rappy 50 gets the flogging instead.
