Help me build a Rage!!!!

hooked on my 450 heli but NEED BIGGER!

I'm pretty hooked on buying me a Outrage 550, need some help:

1. What all motor, esc & how many lipo "S" is everyone running?
2. What is the differences between G10 Pro, Silver Pro and CF Pro?
3. What all servos do you guys run in your 550?


Also, i have a Speky DX7 i'll be using on her.

There are quite a few threads in this section answering all that already.

6Cell is the most common (and most economical)

As for motor the Neu 1907 and Scorpion 4020-1390 are both good choices

Go with the G10 Option. It is still quite strong and much cheaper than Carbon Fiber.

Servos are personal choice too.. I like the JR DS8717s and Jr DS8900G tail servo with ANY Spartan gyro

ESC is your choice.

the ICE 100 is a fav and the Castle PRO bec too

thx SOlaris, yeah i seem to have trouble with the search option finding what im looking for.

i appreciate your guidance with this, im very interested to select my own motor, esc , servos etc and not 'take what they give' like in kits.

i'll continue to hunt through the section and see what else guys have going on.

Tail servo : Align DS-650
Gyro :Spartan Quark
Motor : Tonic-X Z30A-1110kv with 13T pinion
Esc : Gaui 75A (very good slow start)
Bec : Gaui 3A (5A max)
Lipo :Turnigy 5000mah/20C (stay cold after 10 mins of sport flying)
Blade : 550mm PRO 3D CF Carbon Fiber
Paddles: Kbdd

I'm in the middle of reading through your build thread. kicks butt. very helpfull. I'm getting hooked up with the same silver kit for $385.00 so i got a sweet start.

got my trex 450 sport came rtf with all the electronics, but now for my 'real deal' heli, i will pick and choose the best parts i want in it.

might take be a bit longer to save the $$ but its well worth the wait caz i'll get exactly what i want.

dude on ebay was auctioning them for $460 with a buy it now deal so i offered $250 & we went back & forth & agree at $385.00.


didnt get to see any Outrage 550's fly at the Ernie Huber Memorial Fly last weekend but a guy wearing an Outrage Shirt told me it was "the best heli he's ever flown; 85 flights and very little maintenance/zero issues."
