cryofix,
I've seen guys run the hs81s.. For me, I don't think the hs81 are quite up to it. THere is a digitial mini hitec servo that will fit but requires 2mm standoff where you bolt them down. The next option are the futaba 9650 servos. These are more expensive than the hitec offering about 50% more per servo. good luck!

Bob,
It's the hs5245mg. Here is a link. I believe you can get these for less elsewhere because they are sold at Hobby People and places like that. They are great servos if you are willing to do the mod. BTW.. you are the man!!!

I also am now considering servos for my new Logo 10. Are people using these for the swash and tail?
What "mod" are you talking about?

Hello, much better option there. The HS-81's are definitely on the weak side for a Logo10.
Heck, I had one of the slightly torquier HS-85 servos fail in flight while rolling and caused a nasty crash one time . I'm now using Hitec5245MG digitals with success, but am planning on switching over to the Futabas later on.

thelane,
the "mod" is you need 2mm spacers behind the mount tabs. This moves the servo out so that it doesnt hit the main shaft. Just about any kind of material will work. Also you will have to mount the ball links on the inside of the servo horn instead of the outside... thats it!
Cryofix,
That is a great deal on the 9650s. Careful though, they will strip on hard landings so check them regularly
have fun!

Ahh.. ya, thanks helidawg. What's a good servo to use that will not strip easily with hard landings?
Hey Finless... you makin' a Logo build video?

the hs5245mg servos are really strong, besides getting them mounted, they are great all around and a very nice price. My favorite servo, if money is no object, is the JR ds3421 this servo is very very good but it costs a lot more. Its stronger than the futaba and this translates into a faster servo in flight. You see the speed rating on servos is most often done without a load. This makes the servo look better than it really is. So the added torque of the JR servo translates into a faster servo in flight - you know moving the swash around etc. Don't get me wrong the futaba servo is excellent. It wears very well and takes a good punch or too. Just buy an extra set of gears and make sure they are smooth if you dork it.

That is a bit of a stretch. I have slammed some pretty hard and not had any strip from it. Now in a crash is a tottaly diffrent story. Any CCPM heli is going to strip servo gears in a crash.

In a crash, ya, but I think we're jsut talking about a hard landing. If you used HS81's, you'd probably strip them out in a hard landing, but a crash, ya, no matter what you have the servos are probably toast in a crash.
