Hey Guys!!:)
Im Looking into Purchasing a TREX 700N and I need your input on what components need to go with it. What kind of servos do you use for cyclic, throttle and rudder? what engine do you use? What Muffler? What TX and RX do you use? what Gyro should I Go with? What about Lipos? I dont know a whole lot about the Nitro set up, so the more input the better! I really Appreciate you all in Advance! Its Great to Know that theres a community of Pilots out there willing to help the New guy get into it all! Thanks!

The stock 700LE With the Align servos ,gryo,Governor best bang for the money, Engine get Align 90 and Align pipe, I fly Spektrum but Fly what you can afford or what you like. I myself went with the 700LE kit using 610's on 8v for the Cyclic, 9257on the Throttle, Spartan Gyro/9256 Tail Servo, Align 91H with a SB20 pipe.
Work very will for me.

Nitro burner has some great recommendations.
I can add to get the metal clutch block upgrade because it is a real pain to try and change out after it is assembled. That is the only must have upgrade I suggest.
I use a 5000mAh rx pack and it's more than enough.
I have DS620s on mine at 6.8V and it's still pretty quick. Throttle is 9252 with a Quark/9256 combo.

I have over 100 flights with my 700le and had no problems.I installed the metal clutch block and also the quick uk links.the 700le comes with 610 cyclic servos and a 750 or 780 gyro and a 650 tail servo witch is a good combo.for the throttle servo you can get a way with just about any standard size servo as there is no load on it.the le also comes with the align gov it works but it's not the best.Im using the align 91 engine and hatori pipe but you can save some money and get the align pipe.Futaba 7ch transmitter with R617FS FASST 7-Ch Receiver works good and is affordable.the le also comes with a regulator and a lipo batt for the electronics.Have fun!

Beside metal clutch block, you also can upgrade tail bell crank and main frame set screw.
It will be PIA to take out original align main frame screw if they broke.
(sorry for my broken English) :noteworthy

+1 on that, totally forgot. I did have some screw strip and that requires a dremel to get them out. This is what we are referring to.

You need four packages.

I have a largely stock 700LE which runs just great. One minor thing I would recommend is some thumbscrew type canopy mounts as it's a) more secure and b) easier to avoid burning your fingers on the muffler when removing the canopy. Not essential (although I did see a video of a 700E where the canopy came off in flight and caused a crash) but nice to have. I have Quick UK mounts on mine and they do a very good job.
I now have the new OS91HZ-R engine in my 700 which I would definitely recommend but ir is pretty expensive so you may want to go with the 'old' 91HZ or Align equivalent depending on budget.

WOWOWOWOW!! Hey Everyone Thanks so Much for all that insight. Its kinda nerve wrecking getting into something that you dont know all that much about (700 size i mean) and when you do get into it, one does not want to have to go back a bunch of times and replace parts that he should have bought in the first place! This was 1st class info and I appreciate your help! Hopefully ill be able to post some pics of the build once i get it! Thanks once again!

Hey quick question though on the 700le package! The align servos that come stock with the package, are they Metal Gear servos or Plastic geared? I would imagine them being metal in a kit like this, but just thought I would ask.

Oh and one more thing! lol how do you guys carry this size of a heli around!? do they have carrying cases that fit a trex 700? or do you just strap it down in the back of your vehicle? what about if you want to travel with it?

I hold her bown with http://www.readyheli.com/KSJ680-KSJ-Heli-Transporting-Mounts_p_34703.html
Thay work very well for going to the local field , If your limited for space you can remove the tailboom find a good sized hard container with padding or add your own padding, and tranport that way, nice for flying to you next funfly.

the heli is big, but i can still fit it in a Civic coupe with the backseat down. as long as idiots on the road dont cut you off the heli wont go anywhere..
the stock LE package works great. if you assemble the heli with quality tools there isnt really a need for upgraded screws... if you ever think u will have a problem backing a screw out heat it up with a solder iron first ;)
really no need for upgrades, just fly it. for the price of the kit it's almost a 'throw away' heli anyway lol
