What % of expo is recommended for hoverpractice. and basic flight for a beginner? I normally use expo with my 3 D planes, but am new to the heli's and not sure how much to start with? I've been hovering and some left to right and right to left fwd flight, along with turn out figure eights, but it seems a little too twitchy for me right off the center of the sticks.

Thanks in advance

I recommend that everyone run at least 20% expo.
I setup my beginners with 30% on bigger ships and about 40% on the smaller ones. Then dial out to about 30% after the first few flights.
I fly my Extremes on 20% aileron/elevator and anywhere between 5-10% on the tail.

You may actually also have more cyclic control than needed. Alot of cyclic throw will also make the cyclic commands touchy around center. If your just learning, you only need about 4 to 5 degs of cyclic on the fore/aft and the left/right.
You can adjust the expo till you get the feel you want also. On the Futaba radios you will need the expo to go to the negative side to lessen it around center. On the JR radios you go to the positive side of expo to lessen it around cneter.

Thanks guys,
I appreciate the input. I'll set up the expo and see if that tames her down a bit :)
Overcorrection is not a good thing
