I've just spent about a total of about an hours flight time mastering hovering nose in in G3.5

Now when I go from nose in to tail in my brain is still on nose in mode and it then takes a few secs to get oriantated again :arggg: :arggg:

Any one else had this problem - I know practice will iron it out but now it makes me reluctant to try nose in on the real heli incase I can't switch back to tail in hovering easily

Yeah. I spend WAY more time practicing nose in, in fact I have gotten pretty good. But I frequently make that mistake when I am tail in!

It's always something! :arggg:

Funny, I've been practicing nose in also. Everything I've read says to start tail in so left is left and right is right, but nose in seems more natural to me.

fly figure eights, slowly.
you will get practice in all aspects.

Hi,

I have also had issues like that. What I find helpful is you cannot stay in a certain orientation too long. If you are learning nose in, good, do it, but switch frequently between your nose in and tail. May seem hard, but it is what you need to do.

As Wayne has suggested slow figure eights will help tons.

Trevor.

The thing is not to practice just tail in and nose in, but the transition too.
So, once you can do both nose in and tail in just do short times on each position changing every few seconds before your brain gets too comfy on it.

You'll find the same is true when working on inverted. When working on inverted I did OK but I found that in the beginning, every time I went back to good-old-upright, a crash was soon to follow. I got in the habit of flying inverted about a min then upright a min, then inverted a min, then upright and so on....

At this moment in time I'm OK flying backward but the transition to FF is the same ol' same ol'. It's the transition that makes me realize that I've not quite got it yet.
