I cut the odd arm off mine too but the one that's left hits the header of the muffler. If I cut that one and left the other it would hit the frame so I had no choice but to leave the lower one.

People keep e-mailing me asking me why I had to grind the muffler down. Reason being is I didn't get a muffler like this one.

I ground the flange on mine down also. Had a bench grinder handy so actually didnt give it much thought, but for fit and polish , be nice to fix em' for the kits. Probably a pain but i betcha his CNC would do a nicer looking job. I had to finish mine off with a file to truly flatten it out. Make sure its flat if it still has roll @ nut it will bend the bolt.

Well after all the build time and learning experiences while putting this together here's the almost finished project. Currently the canopy is in the garage drying from painting the windshield. I didn't want to do a fancy paint job cause I know this is going to get all scratched up. I'll spend time as I'm learning to fly to custom paint the other canopy I have.

I found I enjoy painting the fiberglass one's anytime I'm not flyin'. Cool added part to the hobby.

Yes the blade grips are glued.... trimmed the blade covering underneath them too. I did the final run through tonight with the guy that's teaching me to fly these things and setup the radio and his radio to match so there's no surprises when the trainer switch is flipped. Tomorrow will be it's maiden flight

ZR2CHEVY22, IS YOUR CANOPY PLASTIC? IF SO, WHAT KIND OF PAINT DID YOU USE AND IS IT STAYING ON THE PLASTIC?

There is a spray paint called Fusion thats made for plastic. It works pretty good but will still flake off arter a while.
Back when I painted cars we use to use a product from Dupont to spray on plastic bumpers that helped the adhesion of the paint. Its not so much as the plastic as it is the release agents used in it to release it from the mold when formed that causes paint not to stick. I dont remember the #'s for the product but if described at a Dupont automotive paint supplyer they will know what it is.

Yes it's a plastic canopy. I used 2 coasts of Bulldog adhesion promoter for plastics... then I used 2 coats of krylon fusion for plastics... then used 3 coats of an automotive clearcoat to be fuel resistant. It hasn't been painted long but it's seemed to hold up better then just paint on plastic.

The difference between the two engines is very noticeable.
I don't remember for sure but I thought that OS listed the SX-H at 1.8 HP and now lists the Hyper as 1.9 HP.
