Dial Indicating Question

Ok, so when I'm dial indicating the fan assembly, should I just be indicating the fan hub and not the actual plastic fan? I surely hope so, because can't that fan flex quite a bit?

Yes just the fan hub. I measure the inside edge of the hub near the engine bolt versus the top of the hub. As the clutch bottom sits on this edge its better to get this part straight so the clutch shaft is straight.
