Hello all, I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could help me out. Ok, I just took out my HB CP2 again after a week on the simulator. I can at least hover on the sim, but in reality this heli wants to move forward and or to the right at take-off. I took it to my LHS to see if they could help me trim it and adjust the gain and proportion on the 4-in-1 and he said that it's fine after about a min of flying 2 ft off the ground and not touching anything. Is the training gear making it heavy to one side? Is it better to fly without the training gear? Is there anyone near Orange County, CA that could help a noobie? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Garret

Well until a helicopter gets up in the air and about 3-6 feet off the ground it is being effected my its own rotor wash so trimming will be difficult.

My take on landing gear. Once you are done hopping around and can take off and land in the same spot. Loose the landing gear. If you cannot take of and land in the same spot you should be doing nothing else but trying to take off and land in the same spot.

I say this as a person who did not want to take the gear off myself. Then when I finally did I was like, "hey this is easier"

Our 'Helifreak Locater" seems broken but I am sure we can find you a pilot in OC.

Dan, for ground effect think about one rotor span, for a HB that would be about what, a foot or so? :D

Don’t be chancing trim tabs with this type of heli. Small helis are naturally unstable and these specific helis don’t have quality servos. i.e. they don’t always center the same. Just get used to constantly giving control inputs to get it to do what you want.

or you could put better servo's in it ... just a thought

... and a brushless motor. Also the head can be a little sloppy - you might want to get the metal upgrade parts. Some people upgrade the tail motor (or even run two in parallel). Then there's the issue of that little 4 in 1 unit. Some folks run their own RX...

But in all seriousness, I had a honeybee CP2, and found that moving all pushrods in one hole on the servo arms tamed that little mosquito surprisingly well.

that's a good idea sfork shorten the throw and it won't what to run when input is given clever.

And he's off on the "Bling" chase.  practice with it ,get use to chasing it then get better heli when the funds permit. I fly on a strict bugget so thats why I fly what I fly. Good luck w/ her.
