View Full Version : 601 Problem (Again)

I am currently having almost a classic problem of a 601. I read so many people having the same problem on the forums. The problem is that everything was fine and suddenly the heli just pirouetted for no apparent reason. Even after I replace the servo, the same thing happened. What is going on? I checked and changed the servo, battery, receiver, the heli  , and it still happened. Is there a lifespan for a gyro sensor or amplifier? I have 2 pieces of the 601 and they are less than 2 years old and rarely flown (twice a week or less). I noticed that the rudder control gain (ACGA / NCGA) on my amplifier shows ACGA***% and it the value can not be altered. Doesn't it supposed to display a numeric value instead of ***? If I change it into normal mode, it does shows NCGA130% and I can alter the value. Can someone verify this please? I did send one of the gyro to Futaba to be checked. Hopefully, they can found out what is wrong with it. I am using 14MZ, 37% gain, tape metal tape mounting, Freya, Avant. Thanks.

that happened to me as well. after landing I discovered the servo was locked in to one position. when moving the rudder it moves then goes back to locked in to the previous position. I took it out replacing it with a 611. I'm going to send it to futaba for service.

It happened to one of my 601 (lock servo), and I also has send it to Futaba. What could cause this problem? Anyone from Futaba? Thanks.

With power off, hold down the left + and - buttons together, then power upYou will get a message that says "bad op" Push the right pair of buttons together and you'll be able to begin scrolling through the secret menu where you will find the reset function.

The Channel gain function is to adjust the piro rate so it will be the same when in Normal mode or AVCS mode.
ACGA that stands for A ( AVCS mode) CG ( channel gain) A ( left or right, will change to B when you deflect rudder stick one direction)
When gyro is in 3D mode, I would guess the ACGA is blank because the gyro is only going to be in AVCS mode all the time. So the piro rate would not have to match between AVCS and normal mode. The piro rate can be adjusted from the rudder ATV.
