Default New Batteries at H/K

Hey Guys have you seen the new Turnigy Nano - Tech Batteries yet. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...~70C_Lipo_Pack These might be interesting Batteries if they have the power they say they have . Matched cells that have real high rechargeable C ratings. Plus a real high Burst rating too. These seen to be a bit long but the weight looks good. Whos going to be the first to get some.?? I would have to try 2 of these if they fit. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...~70C_Lipo_Pack

I ordered 4 of the 6s 3000mah. They are packed just waiting for them to send me the shipping confirmation.

Oh, and this!

Power supply is a little small for the charger would have liked one a little bigger.

I'm moving up. Getting rid of the Skycharger Worked fine until I got my 500.

3000mah turnigy 6s 25-50 c discharge

so is 40c better then 25-50 discharge im confused on how they label them cause 50 c i know is better but they putting a range of the c rating compaired to a flat C rating

this make sence what im saying?

The 25-50c rating is 25 C discharge with a burst of 50c. The 40c's you have have a burst but its probably not labeled on the pack itself.
The nano tech batteries are just their latest technology, higher charge rates, longer life, etc...

this is way im confused just looked at STATS of the new nano and mine and the new 6s 3000mah says 25 discharge with a burst of 50

but my zippy 3000mah 40c 6s say 40c constant with a 50 c burst so as far as the c rating goes isn't it better for a 40c contant with a 50c burst over the new nano with a 25c constant with a 50c burst? other then that im sure the new nano have better qualitys about them like you said

This kind of confuses me as well, I wanted to get some of these higher capacity 6S 3300mah nano packs but they didn't have the 45C~90C ones. Had to go for what was in stock at the moment because I was 99% sure it's all going to be gone in a couple of days.

Usually they also put a number of seconds for the burst rating but it's not specified for any of the nano packs. Would be interesting to see someone test these with a logger and see what they can actually put out.

I would go with the 45C with 90C Burst. I run the regular Turnigy 3000 mAh 40C and they really put the power out. The extra 5C that the Nano has , has to be even better and you sure wont ever max out the Burst rating in the Nano Packs. 90C !

I just recieved a 6S 3000 25C-50C nano-tech lipo today.

I'll be logging my flights to compare it with my 30C regular turnigy lipos (voltage drop under load, power output, etc, etc) and I'll post any worth while results for you all to see.

One thing about these new lipos is that they are lighter than an equivalent standard lipo for their capacity and C rating. For example my 20C 6S 3000 packs weigh 487g and my 30C packs weigh 507g while the new Nano-tech 25C weighs 447g. Basically they have a higher energy density along with a safe 5C charge rate (now I just need a new charger and power supply!!!). They are also slightly narrower and longer than the older packs.

Anyway time will tell how these lipos perform especially in regards to cycle life. If the standard Turnigy lipos are anything to go by, these new ones should last quite a while.

Cheers,

Heath

Default Nano Packs

I'm Very interested in your report on how well these do. I would love to grab a couple but I'll wait for a few reviews first. Having 6 6s packs seems to be all I need for now. Oh yea I would suggest getting a iCharger 206 B with a P-350 power supply. This set up keeps me in the air all day with 6 packs , If I had 2 more batteries I would only have to wait for the motor to cool off. LOL Please post how the power output is vrs the 30C packs. I have 3 3000mAh 40C Turnigy packs and the have PUNCH ! Now I want 45C . Being lighter too would really make a huge difference too. Keep us posted. Thanks I want to try these http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...~90C_Lipo_Pack

6S 3300mah 25C~50C Nano-techs weight 489g and actual size is 138x44x38mm so the weight is accurate compared to description however it is a bit smaller (hobbyking states it is 145x53x37mm). Fits nicely between frames in a 500 with dropped tray without touching the sides. Both helis are down for maintenance so I can't test it but they sure do look nice.

Keep us posted on your review on power delivery and flight time. It should be a great pack for you average hot rod sport flyer thats for sure. Kinda low C rating but impressive burst capabilities. With numbers like that it should be able to take a beating both in the air and on the bench while recharging . I'm still wating for that 45C rated 3000 0r 3300 mAh pack to come out in a 6s. Now that should be the ticket for power hungry set ups with monster motors and demanding flying styles.

I got mine today, 4x 6S 5000mah 25/50, and just got finished soldering on the deans. I am going to use them on my 550 and 700. They are charging right now. I was supposed to have my new Hyperon Duo with the 45a 600w PS but the post office lost it on the truck. If you can believe that. Oh well soon. Unfortunately one of them is giving me a connection break. I will try again when the new charger comes it to see if it persists. At $100 a piece including shipping, I am not going to tear into it looking for the problem. I have registered them with HK for warranty. The other three are fine. I should have some time to test them against my regular Turnigy 25C and 35C tomorrow and let you know what I think. Has anyone flown with the 3000's yet? I am interested in them for my 500.

Edit: They are slightly longer but smaller circumference than the regular 25C.
