Just wanted to know what size CF blades people are using with their Swifts.

I'm not using any yet, but I have read of other people using 515, 530, 550.

What about 500s? Just looking to see which CF blades to get for my Swift.

That's good to know. Any problems with the 600+ motor running those longer blades?

I'm also running 550s with the 600+. No Problems! :D

Nope no problems.... Century also sells 550 carbons for this 6S 600+ with 9T pinion setup.

You guys with the 550s are you using 5S, 6S or what size packs & what kind of flight times are you looking at. I really like the looks (& price!) of the Swift but one thing that concerns me is the pack location. Anyone ever took a hard "splat" & toasted the packs - as well as the heli!

I have run both 5S and 6S with 550's and the 600+ motor.

The 550+ works very well 4-5s. With 6s your likely to dammage the motor.
The 600+ will work very well 4s to 6s. Although if you are doing 3D with the 4s make sure you have a decent pack like a 4s1p Flightpower 3700 Evo20 NF. Beacuse the current draw is fairly high and it will bring the voltage of other cheep packs, below 3V per cell, at high loads.

With my Stock swift with 550 Rotorteck blades. 600+ and FP3700 I was pulling and average of 47 Amps doing 3D. Peaking at 66Amps. After the flight the motor was 110 and battery was 97.

Are 550's too much for the 550+ motor on 4S? I'm looking for a set of carbons, but the only ones I seem to find at shorter lengths are the Heli-Max 530's, the Century 520's (3mm only) and the Rotortech 515's (3mm only). The Heli-Max's (which look okay for the price I guess) are 4mm hole, and I've heard that there is a metal insert in the Century 520's that can be dug out to be able to use 4mm bolts - anyone heard of this? Any other carbon blade options for those of us with a setup similar to mine?

You will find these 530mm units work very well on the Swift:

They also make them in 550's. I believe if you search their site for the CNF5533 (550mm units) you will get a picture that will show you what they look like.

Ok, I tried out a set of the Heli-Max 530's today. A single strip of tracking tape was enough to get them in balance. Tracked perfectly. Flies much nicer than my woodies and the motor/esc/lipo felt cooler as well. That's probably because the woodies had a bad warp on the trailing edge of one blade, creating drag and making the power system work harder I would guess. I wouldn't be surprised if my headspeed increased a bit because of that as well - will check it this weekend. Definitely has more pop on the collective!

Overall, not bad for $40 - I'm impressed!
