I do love my Hyper for about 2 gal, of CP30. and then the bearing starts to make some nose. Then I have to replace them. I’ve tried the stainless races w/ ceramic ball, and stainless with metal balls. I’m running a gov, that keeps me at 1800rpm’s
I’m not ruining lean, I get lots of smoke, and I can leave my finger on the back plate all-day long. And I’m not the only one at our field with this problem.

I've been ok with the hyper so far, but i have heard of this alot
Evolution just came out with a .52. It will be interesting to see what the feedback is.

I'd stick with the Hyper, the Evo is still too new.. Check Mike's review @ http://www.raptortechnique.com .
Do you run your engine dry on your last flight ? Do you use any after-run oil ?

Ya that Evo motor is not sounding to wonderful (i.e. raptortechnique) and I do run it dry after every day of flying, I do not run after-run, CoolPower clams it’s not needed with it.
Anybody running the hard to find YS or Webra 55-P5 ?

I've been running a plain 'ol O.S. 50 for nearly three years with no problems at all.

I haven't got any problem with my hyper after multiple gallons. bearings are still smooth as silk...
if they really are bad, return to your dealer, I heard of cases OS takes the engine back or something.
I wouldn't want any other engine then the hyper. runs smooth and lots of power and reliable

Make sure you use a fuel with decent oil in it, too (and at least 18% oil, as specified in the manual). I've seen people at my field burn out bearing like crazy, then switch to Cool Power 20/20 and have no problems at all afterwards.
