Hi guys

just wondering what everyone is using for there tail servo

will the 9650 cut it ( does the tail hold for fast backwards flying )

or is it worth drilling holes in the frame to support the 9254

cheers

9650s are not made to be put on the tail, however u can get by, but not fast backwards flights.

9254s are the better choice... go for them u can't be wrong...
am running 9256s/601 cuz i got spare so i use them, holds fine...

No need to drill holes for the 9254 btw.

See following website: http://menehunerotorworks.com/copy%20-%20theme_3.html

I did this and it sits perfect(and I started with a 9650 :) )

I will never change back

I used the above modification and it works great. I did have a 9650 and 401 but was having problems with the tail holding. I think it was the gyro and not the servo. I changed out the gyro and servo with a spare 9254 and now my tail is holding solid.

The 9254 is the way to go. Mount it as mentioned in the link above or you only have to drill 2 new holes to mount it with bolts.
