The tail on my Raptor 90 has a vibration. I think it is mostly vertical but may possibly have some horizontal in it. I have changed out the spindle, main shaft, the tail blade shaft, the drive shaft, lubed the dampeners, and as accurately as I could, weighed the main blades which are Mavrick 680s. Does anyone have any idea where I should turn to next?? :arggg: :arggg: :arggg:

wiegh the paddles! and check to make sure that the distance from paddle to head is exactly the same. This was a problem with my R90 a year ago. TT plastic paddles were the cause, v-paddles were the solution.

I did change from the stock black paddles to the lighter red paddles with no success. I have checked the distance also.

the next thing would be to balance the fan on the motor, or maybe you have a terribly out of balence head. You can use an airplane prob balancer for this, they cost arount $25 for a Du Bro product.

Actually I have changed out the fan with an upgraded metal one from Heliproz. I still have the problem. Could the problem be with the main blades? Has anyone ever used the Maverick 680 carbon blades? If they where out of whack, would that cause the veritcal tail problem??

Balance the the tail all together, on a prop balancer.

check the distance between bearings on the talk tub or see if they might be bad.loos boom suports or boom, starting shaft not in line, loos motor mount, chiped gears in tail box,or near main gear of auto gear

I found the problem. I have had a Top Dragon metal hub and the stock spindle was just a bit long, about 1/8". I was told that during spool up, the blades would center out and be fine. I just decided to put between the blade grip and hub another washer to eliminate that space and that solved the problem. Aparently it was not centering on its own. Thanks guys.
