main motor or tail motor and stsys red

Book states that in order for the 4-in1 to initialize, you need to have your trim set all the way down too. I have never used the stock Tx so I can't comment on if it is that.

Yes, you have to go full low stick, full low trim. Watch teh LED. It will flash for a bit, then go steady green, then it will fly.
You might want to run the trim up to middle after starting, unless you are new, then leave it down to totally eliminate power when yo udrop the stick during a crash. It will reduce the damage.
