Hey I am new to this forum, and I have been using the rcpowers forum for so long but they just dont have to heli help that I need. So anyway I have the Eflite blade cp pro2 and I have modded my tail rotor to the 2 tail motors working togethor. Any way I find myselft replaceing them tail motor quite often. So I was wondering are there any good tail setups that WONT require me to replace the tail motors...Pictures would be helpfull. I didnt think the stock one motor tail was powerfull enough. I really want to get a direct drive setup but its just too much work for me right now...so I am trying to find a good mod with a GOOD motor that wont wear out so fast any suggestions? Thanks for helping me out!

You could get a brushless tail motor but that requires a separate ESC.

How long have you been flying your Pro 2? I've flown mine quite a bit and this motor has lasted a hell of alot longer than my Pro motors. The Pro2 motor is direct drive... are you sure you're not getting things confused? Pro2 motor puts out more than enough power unless you're blazing alot in FFF.

I don't understand, Are you saying you are using two of the small motors on a geared tail?? or 2 of the direct drive tails??....which would be impossible. I have only seen the 2 motored tails on the geared tail. So, if you are using the two motors and the gear arrangment....throw it away and get the direct drive tail mod kit. While you are at it, get the ccp2 hi performance motor for 15 bucks. The change over will be under 30.00......J

Flycap, Depending on your budget and how much you like the hobby. The best bang for your buck is the SR. It come as a complete package for around 180. You get the heli and tx. The heli comes RTF....ready to fly, so you get the new tail, gyro, rx, brushless main ect. If you want to spend more cash and get a better heli....there are many to choose from. The problem with your bird is that it is and old design and uses the old style radio....which is not good....I have 2 of them.
1157, bring your heli by...I want to fix it.....J

Well I just got a offer to get a Trex 450 se. So I think I am going to sit on the blade cp pro2 for a while and fly the trex around for a while

If you have the geared tail, then you don't have the CP Pro 2. you have a CP Pro. Get the Pro 2 direct drive tail, it works with the CP Pro 3 in 1 speed controller. Haven't had my tail fail yet.

I dont the the 3 in 1 controller any more I am using a phoenix ESC with some other hardware. It is a cp pro upgraded to a pro 2 with modded parts and just to clarify direct drive the tail is powered by the main motor itself via a belt right?

Whoa, slow down a bit and look at what you have. All Blade CPs have two motors, one driving the main rotor and one driving the tail rotor. Unless you've done something radically different.

What the hey? Belt tail or direct drive or dual geared motors???

Direct Drive is just what the name implies, a single motor connected to the tail rotor without gears or belts. So, now you have a Trex 450 to fly around? Sniff! Sniff! What's that smell? Troll?

Way back when the first cp was out and people started modding it, the tail became a problem.....yeah I know, same poop different diaper....At any rate, micro heli came out with a tail mod that used 2 geared motors instead of one. This was one of the hot mods for a while...then the gws DD and then e-flite DD. I have one of the 2 motored tail brackets that came with a cp I bought used....POC.......J

Yes I have the dual geared motors. And yes the same guy that I got the blade cp pro2 from wanted me to do more work for him...in return for my work I get a trex 450 that he totalled and rebuilt and he doesnt want it anymore because he got a new 500 kit. So theres that smell explained. I think this thread is going no where its ok now I have moved on...so you can just abandon this thread if you feel the need.

I don't use the prop or the prop adapter....too much weight and too much slop. Instead is use a gws 3020 or 3020 and push it on. You can get them at a lot of places including Horizon....J
