WOW, I really like this heli, this is my first 30 size and I have to say it fits the bill just right, I will be using it for AP work but again WOW. Smooth, nice to fly, it just feels good.

Here is my setup:
Logo 10 Deluxe 2006
Z-Power Z20-800 20 tooth
HV45
3x9650
401/9254
Running 10S A123

First flight on fully charged A123 was 8 minutes with a head speed of about 1850-1900 Throttle curves set to 0,45,80,85,87,89,100, pulling +10 -10 on full pitch.

Currently about 40F degrees outside, the motor came in at 69F degrees and the pack at 111F

Thanks to Mikado for providing a great Heli! Readyheli for getting me this heli for $199 shipped and a free T-shirt! and Ggoodrum @ tppacks.com for the Motor and speed controller.

Some thing to note, I have a FP Evo 4900 6S for my 600 and I checked measurments against my A123 10S, the A123 is smaller than my 6S and weighs right about the same. about 3 grams less the 6S pack. I was also able to charge the A123 on my TP1010C at 9Cell setting, limitied to 4.0 amps becasue of my power supply, however it only took 30 minutes.

I will be doing several test flights today and will have more accurate measurements of head speeds, flight time and charge times.

How many mah did the a123 take after the 8 min. flight?

Having problems with my PC power supply dropping out after a certain time, I am estimating about 2000 Mah

I am charging now but the PS dropped again at around 1100 Mah, I will drop to 3 amps on the next charge to get exact time and Mah.

2nd flight 7:36 seconds, and brought the bird in with power still available this flight was a little more aggresive, some pitch pumps, a little FF, but still mainly hovers.

Ambient outside temp is now about 45F
Motor temp 64.1F
Pack 122F at the hottest I could find inside the pack

I did notice a bit of power loss about 5:15 seconds, it didnt have the the nasty climb rate that it had in the first 4-5 minutes.

Head speed 2100 at 80% throttle, could probably get 2250 at 100% but dont have the setup to test.

Have 2 more packs in now brand new, dean soldered on and charged and i have a small concern, only got 6:15 on 1 and 6:01 on the other, this may be due to the way I am charging them, on the 1010C I charge till it switches over to CV at 37 volts which is 3.7 per cell recommended charge range from A123.

Should I let the charge finish out on 9S with the 1010C?

These batteries have great power there is no doubt I am very happy so far and cant wait for this 1010C mod to be released.

Items of interest: when I charge with the 1010C it takes me about 3 start for it to get passed the initial charge stage, voltage is around 29-30 volts after a pack is used and it takes a few minutes to get it back up to 33 volts in order for the CC charge to kick in. With in 33-35 volt range on the charger it takes it a while to charge the batteries(30 min +), this is where the charger spend most of its time, once the battery hits 35+ volts there is only about 3 minutes left before it hit 37 volts.

I'd definitely let the charge finish out to 37.8V. That "tops" of the pack and after 10-15 minutes, the "resting" voltage drops down to about the 3.4-3.45V range, which is "full".

It also takes a couple of times to get my fully drained packs to get going.

Looks good. What are you going to use for a camera mount?

Let me know how you like it when it arrives. I have a logo here I have been flying lately that is begging to take some pictures also, but I have not decided on a mount yet. I like the askman 360, but can't decide if I should put it on the logo or get the bigger one for the raptor. :dontknow

it is in preproduction beta testing phase. :) I just shipped 3 raptor and logo version is also going out tomorrow. official release will be after new year. it does not mean you can't sign up for beta testing. I made some major changes from the version that gary got. infact, the same improvement is being incorpoated into rest of the line. V2.0 of the non pan version is coming as wel.

the major reason was to get rid of all glued joint in the leg. also makes it easier to change part in case of damage. goal was same light weight but stronger. I think I achieved that. pretty happy with the new design. you will see when raptor pansetup is delivered. :)

Just some more info on the batteries,

5 more flights today all in the 7:20 to 8:03 range!!

all packs take back in 2000-2100 Mah and take 40 minutes to charge at 3.5 amp.

AP2000I is in today still need to do more setup on it, broke my swashplate last night and used a TREX stick and ball to mount on the swash.

Askman,

How is the 50 size 360 mount coming along?

I have yet to see any pictures of it, it would be nice to see some picts with an R30 or R50 sitting on it.

I got mine and RErazor's late yesterday. I'm trying to "clear the decks" so that I can work on getting it setup today. I will take some pics as I go and I will start a new thread. I have a new-build eTitan that will marry up with this mount. It is setup with a Z50A-600, a 12T pinion and two 10-cell a123-M1 packs in a 10s2p configuration.
