I was curious how a cp3 compares to a Blade SR? Easier to fly harder to fly? which ones is easier to do 3D on? anyone flown both?

I have flown both..i own the CP3 and my Buddy has the blade SR....

My thoughts:

Out of the box the Blade SR may be a tad easier to fly..it is setup for a little mushier settings and responses....it has a few positive aspects over the CP3 - one..it's brushless to start..the CP3 is brushed...2nd the parts are now all over for the SR...E-sky stuff is only online parts ordering..no local hobby shop will carry an E-sky part..which means if you break something you have to order it and wait...

it also seems the blade SR may be a tad easier to work on as well..main shaft comes out easier for replacement....

the CP3 is good for a beginner CP pilot..i like mine..it is pretty rugged....but like any CP heli with plastic parts..you hit something..you break stuff...

for $100 the CP3 is a good value too...the difference in price i was able to buy a ton of spares for the CP3 and learned how to work on it when i broke it...

think they use the same tail motor setup but different blades..

CP2 blades are hella cheap and can be bought from Chine ebay auctions for like $13 shipped for 5 sets..works on both heli's...

I recommend both..but if you have a LHS and they carry E-flite stuff...buy the Blade SR..much better to have local hobby shop support and help..with the CP3 you are kinda on your own for parts and help...but for $100 it is hard to beat..i love my CP3 and it has been a good heli...

both fly about the same once you set the SR up for the more advanced settings...so for 3D i'd put them equal to each other...

so my final thought is...CP3 - cheap but works well - if you order spares and have them ready you are fine..but looking for a person to help at a Hobby shop you are kidna on your own...brushed motor means if you ever want to go brushless you have a bunch of $$ to drop..and you need to do a fuse mod right away..the 3 in 1 modules burn up at the 1st sign of a stopped rotor and power still applied

Blade SR - tad easier to fly out of the box..has a real gyro...more $$ at 1st..better LHS support...but parts are a tad more $$..easier to work on..3D is the same as the CP3...

if $ is not a problem i'd go with the blade SR..just better components..and easier to fly out of the box i think...but i have no problem recommending the CP3 if you like to work on stuff yourself and can deal with parts delivery time..

Hope this helps a little!
