X-Spec E-Conversion suggestions?

Hi All,

Maybe instead of trying to sell/trade my X-Spec for an electric machine, I should just try converting it. A new engine, muffler and a season of fuel would cost me approx $800-$1000 so, I wonder if I could just spend that on a motor, ESC and batteries and keep flying it?

What's the best choice for a motor now? (Neu, Plattenberg, Hacker). Can you just put a pinion on a large brushless motor or, will I need additional gearing? I know I'll need a custom mount.

I'm not 100% E-savvy so, speak plainly!
