OK so here is the place the Logo 14 build videos will be!

This will include all build vids, later upgrades, test flying vids, etc!

So you know I have already built one of these for Will James and it was an AWESOME heli... Now I am building one for myself and as always I will make build vids as I always do :)

So here we go.....

Kit overview of part bags & manual
VIDEO -> Logo 14 kit overview of part bags and manual (20 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=overview.wmv)

Preping the frames which I think is very important!
VIDEO -> Preping the Logo frames (29 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=frameprep.wmv)

The frames (step 1) will be in two parts as this is a lot to cover!
Building the frames PART 1
VIDEO -> Building the frames PART 1 (56 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=framesp1.wmv)

Building the frames PART 2
VIDEO -> Building the frames PART 2 (56 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=framesp2.wmv)

Landing Gear. Nothing fancy here and pretty basic so skip it if you dont need to see it :)
VIDEO -> Landing gear assembly (14 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=lgear.wmv)

Main gears and main shaft... Some good info here I think!
VIDEO -> Main Gears and Main Shaft Assemebly (60 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=maingears.wmv)

Tail Case Assembly
VIDEO -> Tail Case Assemebly (30 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=tailcase.wmv)

Tail Pitch Slider Assembly
VIDEO -> Tail Pitch Slider and Control Arm (38 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=pslider.wmv)

Tail Hub Assembly
VIDEO -> Tail Hub Assemebly (25 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=tailhub.wmv)

Tail Drive Assembly
VIDEO -> Tail Hub Assemebly (50 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=taildrive.wmv)

I am jumping around a bit in the manual for video reasons and build reasons.

Servo install
VIDEO ->Installing servos - S9650's (70 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=servo_install.wmv)

Swash Plate and Washout. Note: make sure your washout is NOT too tight on the main shaft!
VIDEO ->Swash Plate anmd Washout (40 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=washout.wmv)

Lots to cover in the head so it will be in 2 or maybe 3 parts
The Head Part 1 - Head and blade grips
VIDEO ->Main head and Grips (50 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=headgrips.wmv)

The Head Part 2 - Head Assembly
VIDEO ->Head assembly (70 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=headassembly.wmv)

Servo horn setup
VIDEO -> making and setting up the servo horns (40 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=servosetup.wmv)

CCPM and Head link setup
VIDEO -> setting up CCPM and head links (60 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=ccpmheadsetup.wmv)

Sorry for the delays folks but the holidays got in the way :)

Installing the tail assembly to the frames
VIDEO -> Installing the tail assembly (40 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=tailinstall.wmv)

Boom Struts. I bypassed this and decided to do a quicky on them
VIDEO -> making the boom struts and mounting (15 megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=boomstruts.wmv)

Setting up the gyro and tail control
VIDEO -> Setting up the 601/611 Gyro and tail control (30 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=gyro_tail.wmv)

Motor and pinion setup and install
VIDEO -> Installing the motor and pinion (34 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=motor_install.wmv)

Final build comments
VIDEO -> Final build comments, etc. (20 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/logo14&filename=final.wmv)

YEA!... flying man... the BEST part :)
I will let you all know how it goes and any upgrades I do later!

Hello Bob

if I may ask you this question here ...

I want buy a good size electric heli. but I can't make up my mind. there are two choices that looks really good. one is the logo 10 and the other is T-rex 600CF.
The lepton is also a very choice but the price is the high side. (by the way , I watched your video build on lepton. and learn a lot , thanks )

also, is logo 14 setup similar to logo 10 ?

I am beginner, I have been practicing on G3 for past 4 months , I think I am ready for the real thing.

cheers

This is great Bob :D Almost makes me want to tear mine appart and build it up again... Very good idea making sure that all the cross sections are electrcally connected to each other.

Eric, the Trex 600 and Logo 14 is "50-size" helis and they are running 580-600 mm blades. The Logo 10 is a "30-size" helicopter running 500 mm blades. Other than that the Logo 14 and Trex 600 has a driven tail (tail spins when you cut the motor) and the Logo 10 does not have a driven tail.

Another difference between the Trex 600 and the Logos is that the trex uses full size servos on cyclic/pitch while the Logos uses smaller servos. The trex 600 and Logo 14 can be flown on 6S lipos and the Logo 10 can be flown on 4S lipos.

All of them are great helis, but personally I prefer the Logos :D

Lorents, I will have the frame parts 1 and 2 up tonight and watch and see how I got things connected :)

Honestly my experience with lockouts and carbon frames I think this is important to do!

Nice!

Seems that the link to the second frame video points to the first one. Should probably be:

thanks Lorents for the info.

I think I will go for logo 10, ( as a beginner and also the price is good )

what electronics will you recommend for the logo 10 deluxe
brushless motor :
ESC :
servo for ccpm :
gyro and tail servo : I think I will use GY401with 9254
and battery :

I have jr 2610 radio set with the 77s receiver that I use for practicing on G3 .

Hi Eric,

I have only set up mine for 3D flying so I might not be the best to ask, but if you post the question in the Logo section of this forum you will probably get some good answers :)

Good idea installing the open end on the thrust bearing ball cage facing up... never thought about that. And on the main grips the opening should point inwards...

On my L14 I had to use both of the shims above the main gear to keep them from rubbing against the frame. No need to use two if it dont rub I guess.

Same for me regarding the washers, main gear rubbed the frame, so I used two washers above the maingear.

Finless

WEIRD! My gears with one washer are not even CLOSE to rubbing the frames?

Bob how do you tell the differnece between mod gears's and what does that mean...sorry if it is a dumb question it is just you refered to mod it the video.

MrMel
11-30-2006, 03:13 PM
Mod = size of the teeths

Finless
11-30-2006, 03:14 PM
Yep mod is used to refer to the "pitch" or size and spacing of the teeth of the gear. In general, the larger the number the larger the teeth.

Perhaps its because MrMel and I use the alu motor mount? I use a thirt party mount that Customheliparts made.

MrMel

It was like that even with mikado original plastic...
