I would assume the stretch version on 12S will a nice competitor of the nitro 91. power to weight arena.
How is your Hacker holding up - I am definitely getting the hacker - made that decision. Seems to be the logical choice between the Tango and New/Acro options. Good power and decent flight duration,
Thanks,
jeff

Lots of good motors. My A50 is running well. I also have Neu motors that are perfect.

The Stretch has a very good power to disk load ratio.

Can I use the Kontronik Tango 45-10 on a RAZOR? This is a 1070KV motor and the NEU 1521-2Y is 1100KV...

Sure. We did not test that motor, but it should work just fine. Probably 18.46:1 ratio with a 40 and 13 pinion.

I am not sure the heat dissipation at that power level but there is only 1 way to know.

No, No the 45-10 is a 6s motor with a max RPM of ~25k , the neu is a 1100 Kv but a motor designed for higher RPM's than the Tango.

I desire more power with a good time of flight... 6min or 7min

I want flight with Fightpower 4350mah 5S1P EVO 20, I dont fly hard like Eric.

I waited for me from mine RAZOR one power between the 50 and 91 nitro.

I am very confused, for me it's the first electric heli !!:dontknow

The TANGO 45-10 (1050 KV) it's 30k RPM motor than the TANGO 45-08 (800 KV)...

The 45-08 run at 14.25 to 1. Works good with a 6 min flight time.

ah, did not think about the max RPM. On 10S it would spin about 38k or so... that might be bad :)

If you want nice power and flight time the Hacker A50 16S or if you want more power then the 14S are good options. Also the Actro 24-4 is good. The Neu is a great motor but we just do not have a can version with a low enough KV for our application. The NEU ORKS are also great options and the 1.5Y would probably work well.

The 45-08 is one of the best setups for efficiency and the power is solid. If you like Kontronik motors then go with that one. You will not be going wrong.

Is there any news on the Razor motors being tested currently?
What motors is everyone running now?

Anybody out there using Actro 32-3 for Razor 10S setup? What is the performance and what gear ratio would be the best one for this setup? Would be nice to maintain the same motor for the stretched Razor in the future :-)

eric,

i am looking to purchase a Razor, i would like to do as you did and stretch
it running 690's/710's for AP work.

thanks,

Seems as though Eric forgot about this thread. I dont think the stretch is a reality either.

I am running a Z-motor A50/800. It has proved to be a good match so far. Cool running with good power. I am running it around 12:1.

He hasn't forgotten about the thread, just taken a little break. If you really want to stretch your heli, call Tim and see if he can sell you a belt. The rest of the parts shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of from other MA machines.

Eric has not been active in the hobby for nearly a year now. I understand he got a promotion at work ( he is a commerical pilot). I have not seen a post out of him for several months. His last log on here was in July 2007. His last post here was Feb 2007.

Yes there is a stretched version of the Razor. I have seen it fly. Contact MA and they might be able to sell you what you would need.

I've been running Neu motors in both my Razors , 1515/2Y's and a 1912/1Y, but not for much longer ,, I've had 2 of the 1515's back to be fixed U/W , now the 1912 has dropped its guts , literally!! , the shaft has fallen out !!!
On 2 occasions the faulty motor took out the ESC as well , it's getting rather expensive to keep using these motors .. the grunt developed is great, pity about the reasonably short life span though ...

A couple of mates using Tango motors have had no hassles , slightly less power , but a decent life span......

Guess which motor I'll be using in future......

Peter,
Were these the H versions with the cooling fans? What ratio, battery packs, and blades were you running with these motors?

Thanks,
Scott

I've had great success with Zpower motors "A series" in my E helis, Actro 32/3 in my Ion faultless for 2 years now. I have just installed a Tango 45/08 in the Razor only slightly more power than Z50A/800. In any case, haven't had an motor failure yet.
