Maidened the tdr today in rainy/”snowy” cold weather and it turned out to be a big non-event, thanks to a good friend’s very knowledgeable assistance in setting up the mini-vbar and double checking my settings.
This heli is very responsive ("piro maniac"), yet ultra smooth and quiet. Nice to see good German engineering in action.

And here is HeliG with it, BEFORE the maiden, you should have seen his smile AFTER the maiden. All the cold and rain of the Cape of storms could'nt wipe it of his face!! Congrats in order, she flew perfectly due to a solid built and setup.

Congrats Heli G,
I know this feeling. I had my maiden 4 Weeks ago.
The smoothness and preciseness is amazing.
I had to tame my tail a little bit down to 75. Too fast of a pirouette rate for my taste.
but thanks to V-bar just some clicks on the CP wheel and it's done.
Have fun!

After last Sunday’s very cold and quick maiden, I had a chance to set the tdr up in perfect weather today. The laptop didn’t see the outside of the bag. It really flies perfectly as is with Jan’s stock settings. I left the tail rate at 100 – fast piro but I like it that way.
The tdr really bowled me over in its perfect handling and speed. Flips and rolls are on spindle precision and inverted really makes it shine. Not sure it can get any better than this.
I did some speed flights and it is like a bullet – can’t get enough of that F1-racing sound!! :YeaBaby:
I’m currently using the 5000mAh 40C’s and get 6 minutes with a HS of about 1700. Will tach it tomorrow and also want to see what she does at 1850.

You'll be surprised at the difference the increase in headspeed brings, i was flying around at 1700 thinking it was in the zone till i tached it, now running 1850 and is scary in fff.
Btw you're better off slowing tail down with dual rates vs software as you can set up different rates on flight mode, for instance i run a slower tail in piro 8's and faster with piro t/tocs and vertical 8's ......more flexible

I ran 1850RPM from day 1, but it took me a few months to get the courage to run 14deg pitch. Normally in a heli running that pitch its to get pop etc, so i was curious how it would go at 14deg in FFF, its makes it quicker for sure and certainly moves.
The higher you climb in a stall turn, the faster the speed.
