Is there a difference between a Duralite and a Fromeco li-ion other than the price of a fromeco is about half($53 for a 4800 li-ion pack)

Also, can you charge a Fromeco li-ion with a duralite charger?

Thank's for any feedbacks,

Andy B.

The Fromeco Relions do not have the Safe charge or balancing circuit.
The Peerless have the same circuitry that the Duralites have always had. The price is similar between the Peerless and the Duralites.

Both excellent products although I have never used Duralites. I have been running Fromeco batteries for two years now. One system I have is the older voltage regulator and it has worked flawless. The other Fromeco system I have is the Arizona regulator with the new Peerless batteries. Excellent product and you really can't beat Fromeco's customer service. That being said I have also heard many good things about Duralite's customer service.

Two big selling points for me with the Fromeco's is the dual voltage off their Arizona regulator. Another one is the fact you don't have to use a Fromeco charger with Fromeco's batteries. With Duralite you will void the warranty if you use any other charger with their product. IMO it's as if they're saying they don't trust the customer to be smart enough to figure out how to charge their batteries.

Like I said I have had excellent service from Fromeco, give Mike or Kurt a call they are very helpful.

I hve used nothing but Duralites for 4+ years, I choose a great product and stick with it. Running some FlightPower Li-Po's on my birds now with Duralite Regulators and working awesome.

Here is some more information that has been passed along to me about the Peerless packs

Although they do have a commercially available circuit on their Peerless pack it is not a balancing circuit and in fact will cut off as soon as the first cell reaches 4.2 volts. This is a voltage cut off circuit and over time will cause the pack to be out of balance and over discharged. It is also of note that they do not make these packs themselves but have a pack fabricator for E-Mole Energy make them. They wrap them and sell them as theirs.

I have heard the same thing as David about the Fromeco circuit. I personally choose and use Duralite and no I am not a rep, I have been using Duralites for almost 5 years.

Loads of lipo sellers don't make them theirselves David. Duralite does the same (duralite-Flightpower-Hyperion... all the same).

I'd love to have a duralite regulator though.

Laurens,
Duralites Li-Ion Packs are assembled from individual cells by Duralite. The circuitry installed in the packs is manufactuered/designed by Duralite.

There is a difference in Li-Po and Li-Ion.
