i have a t-rex 450se, and want to get a larger/full size electric heli.

looking at the t-rex 600, it seems pretty nice. but there are others out there as well that look good.
but there are just too many to know the differences, and im just not that good at flying yet to be able to tell.

so, any suggestions as to which bird is best, and why? not so interested in price, just pros/cons.

thanks,

mark

T-Rex 600; Flys great and cheep to fix. But buy the good batteries. Evo or TP.

P.S. "Full Size" are the ones you can ride in!!

T600 - best bang for buck, cheap parts, can be hard on the batteries
Lepton, Logo10/14 - reputation for great performance but expensive
QJ-EP8/16, Swift - good mid-range and affordable
eRaptor550/620 - new, but from TT so probably good
Then there are Ions, Jokers, Razors, MDP and more.

Take a look in finless' gallery for some neat lineups of his helis to get a feel for the relative sizes. He has some there with T450, Lepton, Swift, T600, Logo14 all in row.

These span a huge range of size, price and performance. There is no one best. You will find enthusiasts for each of them that can tell you why that one is their favourite.

If you can provide more parameters you will get more useful help. What matters most to you (you already said it's not price)? Is it performance, endurance, 3D ability, stability and smoothness, options for scale fuselages or something else ?

I have been researching too and for me (price and size are issues) something with 400-450mm wooden blades with affordable parts that will fit in a small car and will do OK for sport flying on 3S2p or 4S1P and go wild with 5S1P makes sense. The QJ-EP8v2 fits that profile but I am waiting to see Align's T500 next year.

thanks for the response.

im not that good (still learning) so im more interested in parts availability, ease to fix after a crash, stability. not sure i would even notice a performance difference at this point. and i have a trex 450 and parts are easy to find. dont really see the other brands much in the bay area

the batteries seem the big issue; align batteries are fairly inexpensive, where tp are very expensive; not sure i totally understand the differences or if it matters to me at this point.
