Well, I finally sorted out my website www.helicaptures.com . I've had a web presence for a while now but the site was just informative. I decided to turn it into something that I could sell my photos directly to my clients off, (so much easier and more professional than bouncing photos back and forth over email). It has the capacity for others to use it as well, and has a section where you can create a password protected or even a hidden category which your client needs a password to access - and the photos can be bought directly off the site using a shopping cart/paypal combination. Or you can also post your shots in the public area and let others buy them or download/share them for free. It's pretty cool and at least gives all the amateur AP guys out there a chance to get their photos seen and perhaps even sold.
Let me know what you think

Thanks Ben, It's proving to be quite popular and has generated a lot more interest than my old site.

Anybody who has Taughannock Falls on their site is OK with me. From looking at your portfolio, you get around!!
Nice site!!

Thanks for the compliments William. The photos of Taughannock Falls were submitted to the site by Earl Browne and I have a couple from other photographers waiting to be authorized for inclusion, (otherwise the rest are my own and yeah, I've been travelling quite a bit).
I think the site is a nice way for the lesser known AP guys out there to get their stuff seen, especially if they don’t have a website of their own. Hopefully I can build up a nice DB of marketable shots with sales benefits going back to the photographers, to help fund better equipment for better pictures, to sell back to the public or clients, to help fund better..... etc... :D

Very nice, neat site, and your facility for selling pix is very interesting. Am too much of a beginner at heli AP to submit anything at the moment but this will change....
As you are in SE England, thought you might be interested in the conservation monitoring job a group of us assembled through RC Groups is doing near you.. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=590126

Hi Garry...
Damn, damn! I can't access the thread from my work PC due to firewall restrictions. I'll have to take a look when I get home tonight.
Thanks a lot for the compliments on the site.. I'll drop you a mail after seeing the thread.
All the best
Jason

Hi Garry
Just checking out your SCRAPS conservation monitoring thread on RCGroups - looks like a great project you guys are busy with - and a good bunch of guys, (and gals).
I wish you all the very best.... feel free to drop some of your AP shots onto the helicaptures website if you want - it's real easy to do and it'd be a great way for others to see them. I can set it up so that they are downloadable for free, or not downloadable at all, or downloadable for payment... whatever you want to do.
Most of all though, have fun - I love those sorts of projects, being in the country as upposed to the office.
Cheers
Jason

Cheers Jason, I'll mention it to the other guys, but am in Bahrain and Dubai now and for the next 10 days, so not in the country in a different meaning of the phrase ;)

Nice pics - what equipment are you using?
BTW - I am looking to go to SAfrica to do a shoot next year ... did you have any problems taking your lipos/equipment etc on the plane?

Hi KarbonBird
I've been using a Vario Benzin Trainer, Canon 350D, HCS 360 mount. However, I've just sold that setup and am going electric. A couple of the pics taken on the site, (of Turkmenistan) were taken using my T-rex 450 and homemade mount.
I didnt have any problems taking my equipment to SA from the UK. So long as you put it all in the hold. I only took my T-Rex so it was very easy, I didnt even put a picture of my setup on the outside, and I locked, (and taped) my hard case shut - I half expected to see it broken open. That was the 3rd time I'd taken my kit on an intnl airline... No problems so far.
Good luck with the shoot

Simple and clean! Nice. The search box looks a bit off on Firefox for Mac.
