Which one?? The deluxe, the 3D or the carbon? There are three Logo 10 models to chose from.

The L10 Deluxe

Well the deluxe is cheap but is missing some decent parts imho
It comes with a plastic swash which imho is silly, a one peice tr slider which again is silly, and no blades. If you do the math on the metal swash, the levered slider fork, and a few other nifty things it is honestly worth it to get the Logo 103D imho, you would then need nothing for upgrades and you will have a machine that will last you a "long" time. I have known people that are very surprised that they never do anything to there 3Ds' but fly, honestly they are that good and reliable. I mean each to their own but personally I think Mikado should take the deluxe out of their lineup as it is not good representation to their "quality" they are known for. This is all my opinion of course and I am certain others will chime in but I truly would not advise a "deluxe" they should call it the "basic, or bare bones" package imho. Good luck and please understand I am not being negative only trying to be honest with you.

Well I guess my biggest question is, will it fly out of the box without costly mods?

No problem, it will fly just fine out of the box (after you built it) :)

I have built one and there are some things you would upgrade if you are going to fly 3D with it, but for normal sports flying it will be fine. It comes with wooden blades. There are two not so expensive upgrades that I would recomend right away:

- Replace 4 plastic bushings in the seesaw with ball bearings - 4x10x4 (#726) + 4x13x5 (#936) 2 of each.
- Replace the tail fork links with the one that have hinges #3030.

If you still have some money left you could get:

- Dual boom supports #721.
- Control bridge with metal balls #3037.

If you get one you should watch Bobs build videos on the Logo 14. Its a different model, but they have a lot in common :)

Thank you Lorents for the list of upgrades, the reason Im interested in the L10 is because I saw Bobs build video on the L14 lol.

I'll add the 2385 clamp ring as a must have in the heli's stock form. If you upgrade to the hardened main shaft you don't need the clamp ring but on the standard shaft it will save you lots of headaches.

my gripe is they dont support the pre LLS head anymore. I have 2 L10 3d and loved the flight on the old heads and I have no idea or part # to convert my heads to LLS...Also as said stay away from setscrew collars, hardened mainshafts all the way!

The old 4s4p B50-13L, Logo 10 days are gone and now I have (2) 13L paper weights as everyone likes the Z motors and even the box cant hang with the new 10-14 pole motors...

Mikado why ya passing me by?? and tell me WTF am I sposed to do with this pre 2003 L20 head?? 3mm blade bolts??! for a 50?? I guess I need the L24 bionic head huh?? More part #s I dont have.

Sorry great helis, and top shelf. Ehelis are moing very fast I just need to catch up I guess.

Hi Garland,

I think Mikado #3081 is the LLS head upgrade for Logo 10 and #3087 is the LLS head upgrade for Logo 20/24.

BTW, my wifes dad used to live in Albuquerque - we are still talking about the breakfasts we had at the Frontier :D

Garland,

I think its a testament to how well the logos hold up over time that you still have the pre 2003 stuff and it sounds like its in resonable shape. I see some of the other guys with other helis at the field replacing stuff weekly.

I guess thats my biggest gripe about the 10. Nothing breaks! I have to take off a part and look at it doing nothing over there on the shelf while I try something else. Its a lot easier to buy upgrades and try new stuff when something breaks or is worn out.

There are 3 logo 10 kits available-
logo 10 deluxe- very basic kit, plastic swash, wood blades
logo 10 3d- a lot more bearings, alum. swash, carbon blades, other nice upgrades
logo 10 carbon- the 3d kit plus carbon frames, not sure if it comes with blades though.

I belive they all come with the LLS head now.

hey thanks for those part #s!!

All my Logos are down I'll update em all at same time. The L20 will be stretched to swing 700mm blades for AP use later. The L20 plastic frame should handle that stress.

I wish Logo had a G-10 frame option for the L20, L14 and L10s. Their Cf frames are pricey! 350$ for the Bionic frames i think....

Another thing...Why in the hell arent they (mikado) going toe to toe with MA and Minicopter?? Wheres Mikado's 90 killer? 800mm AP wet dream heli??
I do like the V bar system that is inovative, but CSM is talking about similar and sticking it to mikado based on hi price of the Vbar.

how did the L14 pass up the Bionic in competitions anyway??

Thats interesting for sure, but Colin is planning on a design with 2 separate gyros and a mixer unit. In addition you need a third gyro for the tail. To use this on a Logo 10 you would have to place three gyros in the right direction and set them up one by one to work with the mixer. There are also some things Vbar can do since the tail gyro is connected through the system too (like "torque compansation"). Vbar also have the air preasure censor that will take care of the pitching up in FFF.

I am quite sure that Colin can make this system work well, but it will be a different system which will be harder to set up. The clever part of the Vbar is that it is one system and the whole system will be configured as such :)
