OK.... no more translator.... I have taken a few classes in Russian and Chinese. It is very difficult for most people in US to learn other languages... Well at least for me. For written words I can read some but not write very well and I use a translator. Probably not the best way? I read what the translator says and try to fix it but this is still difficult.

Yeh I know, Its difficult because we have different alphabet and letters:)

Well... as you can see, "zdraste" is almost similar as first part of "zdravstvulte", so its short modification using in "live" talks (you right, kind of informal), but not slang, here some other variations e.g. "privet" means "hi". In general "zdravstvuite" menas wishing health (historically).
