Today I received my new to me 12z and started programming in my machines. The radio looks almost flawless on the outside besides one small nick on the bottom plate.

While on the main menu I selected the helicopter on the front to adjust my throttle curves and as soon as I did I *think* I also accidently hit ailerion trim as well and the radio shut down. When I try to cycle the power it displays the following,

I've tried holding a few keys during startup and charging the pack. It's showing 100% in the second photo and holds 8.05 volts when discharged at .33 amps on my charger. Any idea's? The seller has been great and has offered to refund my money but I honestly think it's a glitch and maybe a firmware update could solve the problem. Sadly I'm not a Futaba flyers club member.

I tried flipping the little dip switch in the compact flash slot and the display reads:

T12Z PROGRAM UPDATE
NO MEMORY CARD

But it does stay on.

Any advice is appreciated.

I assume you've charged the battery before using, right?!!!!! Also make sure you don't have anything plugged into the trainer connector, e.g. sim cable.

Otherwise, it seems like the current model somehow became corrupted and the radio decides to stop running. Try resetting the model data .... see this thread, http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=22465 , and on the screen shown below, select INIT-MDL> EXEC. and press DATA (rotary) until it beeps. Then shutdown, remove the CF card and try starting radio. If that doesn't work, then it's a trip to service.

Yes the battery is charged and shows good voltage (8.05 volts under a .33 amp load). So the packs working great.

Thanks for the information, I will try exactly that.

That worked...YOU THE MAN!! Thanks!

I believe I know what happened. When I changed the previous owners code to my birthdate I'm positive it was changed but when I entered the service menu it showed his code still....guess theres a bug. I'm now considering updating the firmware with that posted on your site.
