View Full Version : Using a 9303 for G3

I recently got a JR 9303, is it true that I have to program it just to use on G3? It does not have a default mode? I have to tell each Heli I fly to use a different radio?

Thanx! :arggg:

You need to setup a model in your radio, yes. If you want to use the mixing in your radio only, then you would need to create [in the simulator] custom versions of every model that you want to fly.

I don't have a 9303, but you will need to do some setup so it will work. You will need to map/mix your hold switch to channel 7 and your idle-up switch to channel 8. You will also need to select the standard 90° servo configuration also. When you are done, you should be able to go to the servo monitor and see channel 8 output move with the idle up switch, channel 7 move with your hold switch, and channels 1-4 move seperately with cyclic, throttle and rudder inputs.

Then you need to do the channel mapping/reversing in RealFlight G3.

Thanx. I guess I will wait until I learn to program it for my rex., then I'll give it a shot.

One question though, why would I need to have a different program for each model I fly in G3? Does the RealFlight controller have a different control program for each model?

Thanx again......

did you ever get your 9303 to work with G3.5?

Ran into some issues that stopped me from working on the heli, but I am back at it. Hopefully will get to the programming phase soon. :dontknow

Got mine working tonight, just pick a blank heli setting, name it, reset it, and thats about it, plug in the cord, (with the TX off) check the controller menu and you should see a secong TX, once selected do the callibration. The hard bit I found was setting the channels, I still can't get the throttle hold knob to work...

Your throttle hold is a knob??

switch on the top right, when I fly normally its throttle hold, in G3.5 it does nothing, I don't seem to be able to get the mapping right :arggg:

You can either setup the throttle hold in your radio as normal [reduce throttle to low], or you can assign the throttle hold switch in your radio to generate a signal on channel 7.

This is how I have my 9303 heli version set up to work with G3.5.

Tx settings:
Modulation: PPM

Model Type: ACRO

DeviceSEL:
Gear - Gear SW
Flap - Flap SW
Aux2 - Aux2 SW
Aux3 - Flap LEV
Aux4 - Mix SW

Out: set all to ACT, Flap to SYS.

In RealFlight under Channel Mapping:

Channel:.......Reversed:......Map to:
1.......................................Channel 3 - Throttle
2........................X.............Channel 1 - Roll
3.......................................Channel 2 - Pitch
4........................X.............Channel 4 - Yaw
5........................X.............Channel 5 - Dual Rates
6........................X.............Channel 8 - 3 Pos. Switch
7.......................................Channel 9
8........................X.............Channel 6 - Knob
9........................X.............Channel 7 - Smoke

This is almost exactly how I fly my real models. Throtle hold is operated by the default switch on the Tx (back switch on the right shoulder). Flight modes with the 3-pos/flight mode switch (front switch on left shoulder).

The knob and dual rates I don't bother with helis but use them with planks. Left lever controls flaps and the "gear" switch handles dual rates (used this switch only because it's in a similar position as the Interlink).

I also had to make changes under travel adj in the Tx in order to get full functionality in RF; everything set to 105%. Before that I'd toggle a switch and nothing would happen, or I couldn't get full response from the throttle on some models. Figured this oddity out on my old Tx (JR 7202).

Hope this helps if anyone is still having problems.

A really great post for all JR owner. I have my Sim since 6 months and I can use my JR XP9303 for the first time perfeclty with the RealFlight.

Thanks again!
