Stratus Question

guys i have stratus with 91 Y'S with 8:45 the 2 main problems the gyro NOT working properly second , i don't have power for flying 3d i was using +9 -9 its really losing power while flipping what d u suggest guys how to fix this problem ?

As for no power. I would think the motor needs tuning. With 8.45 ratio you should be turning at least 1800 rpm on the rotor head.
The YS 91 should turn the rotor head 1800 rpm at +10 to -10 with no problems.
You can use a cyclic to throttle mix to help during the filps and rolls if your not using a speed control device.

As for the gyro, need more information as you what is not working. Gyro type, settings, etc.

Try some different blades,the Vblades tend to bogg a lot if thats what your using.DOUG

I have never had the VBlades bog. But I guess it is possible if the model is not set up correctly. The majority of blades I see being used at events is Vblades.

My 690 Vblades bogged,i replaced them with Radix and there was no more bogging. I have talked to a lot of people that have had the same issue as me with Vblades. If he is using the 680 old stlye Vblades they are even worse. You can use less pitch and cyclic travel but thats just a bandaid. i even had some 600 Vbaldes that bogged bad ,i replaced them with radix 600 and it was like a different helicopter.

on the instruction they said its important to use 710 !!! i don't understand 680 the blades NOT just bogging almost STOP-ED think so need more modification for the sucks YS os when its come half of the tank its run leans i had broke 4 before , gyro not carrier the Helicopters as well as the 401 i believe its the best after 601 the gain %100 !!!!!! and the travel adjust 150 :( what do u think guys ?

If the motor is not tuned and running correctly. The gyro is not going to work correctly. I believe your problem is with the motor. It is either not tuned properly and throttle curve if your not using a governor set up properly.
YS is a good motor and should fly the model just as good as any other model. The problem is with your motor.

i would check the throttle Curve , and lean engine little bit , what is the best ration for 3D 8;18 or 8:45 ????????

how could i modify the YS to get Aggressive 3D ? :mrgreen:

The best gear ratio for the YS 91 is 8.45 or 8.36 for 3D type flying.

YS needs no modification. It will have plenty of power when tuned correctly.

I currently run my YS with 8.18 at 1950 HS with +- 11 degrees pitch and its a ball tearer, doesnt bog unless I do something silly.

Me too i have 8.18 and 1950 headpseed with Muscle pipe. Puts the engine right in it's happy spot 15951 RPM.DOUG
