I was planning on this one but the fuel cost are keeping the man down. Is anyone hiring in NC that way I can have a job and be close to what I hear is the best place on the east coast.

This is an event topic from last year. Next HeliFreak-Invasion is in Kuwait in most likely December. Next one in the US is not until next year sometime.
If you are talking about the Black Sheep Event Sept 16-18 we definitely hope you can come. We understand about the gas, and from what I hear gas IS available in SC at this point. Gas in SC is usually about 20cents + less than in NC. The Black Sheep Event is a very fun and exciting event, we hope a lot of you guys can make it!! Plenty of camping onsite, weather should be good in Sept for tent camping and there is plenty of grass to camp on. Black Sheep is located about 4-5 hours from the NC and SC coast. There are definitely a good bit of Jobs around the Greenville/Spartanburg/Anderson areas. Black Sheep is basically about 1/2 way between Atlanta and Charlotte on I-85, being about ~1.5 hours from either city. What line of work are you looking for?

I was just kidding about the job hunt. The cookville event is what hurt and it was only a 400 mile round trip. It cost me about 100 dollars on that one just for one day. I can imagine what going to blacksheep will cost with a camper.

I know what you mean. We would have paid the high gas costs and gone to Cookeville if we had not been worried about gas availability. When you can only go 150miles on 70.00 worth of gas, it makes it to scarry to leave home with FreakWife and our 4YO son.
Hopefully by the Black Sheep event gas will be more available and cheaper! :DOH

I will have all my tools along John if you want to travel light and cheap. I will ahve just about anything you could need including a Dremel and Soldering iron.

So, what's going on with the 'ole' HeliFreak Invasion??!! It just doesn't seem to be posted anymore, rather it's the event of whatever club as their annual event on a given day, given month and so on. It used to be the HeliFreaks were invading one field one weekend, then another the next weekend and you get the picture, I'm sure! Things have changed, haven't they! :( :arggg:

Keith,
With the cost of fuel for vehicles. I think everyone is just slowing down a little.
It is expensive fuel wise to try to go 400 miles round trip every weekend. I know for me the trip to Blacksheep was $120 in fuel cost alone.

I am minus a tow vehicle right now to. Hope to have a new truck in a few weeks...
Gas is 3.29 a gallon here these days, that hurts when you get 7MPG.
