the LEPTON friggen rocks
finally had its maiden flight yesterday
this heli can even give my mighty 3DMP which is on 10s3700 evo packs
a run for it's money
we had a peak of 1126 watts :D wowsers
all I can say any who hasen't flown one is missing out

I tried 5S on 3025-12 weekend before last and all I can say is HOLE CRAP! the power is just SCARY! I had to get use to the heli all over again :)

true ... using 4S and it's already SCARY ;-) thinking about 3S now, as that probably is fun enough ... and cheaper :mrgreen:

I finally got a tach and although I'm running about 80 on my max throttle, my HS was 2850. I think it is just a little too high for me. I'm gonna try decreasing it to something like 2400. It's really flying well though. Fixed an interaction problem with my linkage rods and it's flying much better now!
5S Bob? Is it staying on your heli? What kind of HS are you running? More than your T-Rex?

I have been flying 5S evo's with the 10 turn Hacker 19 tooth Kovi pinion for about two months. This setup is awsome, nothing gets hot and the power is equal to any 90 out there. Best part is I can safely fly for 7 minutes and put back roughly 75% of the rated capacity of the battery. I have owned several e- heli's but this set up is by far the best for power & efficiency!

You guys running below 3100 are really missing out. :twisted: 3200 is really insane! But I understand some people dont like power. :mrgreen:

Wow 3100+! That kind of power does scare me on something larger than the T-Rex. Must fly awesome though. At 2850, my Lepton is a rocket!

Yeah the A30-12XL on 5s1p 3300 Flightpower is probably THE hottest setup ever. And I don't mean temps either.

Bob, are you still using the Align 75 amp with the 5S setup,
Also what motor and batts are you using for 5S - I am thinking about making the move from 4S,

Yes I am still using the Align 75 since it will work up to 6S!
I am using Flight Power 3300 MA 5S packs.
3700 ma 5S works too but is heavier.

That is the same thing I found. 3700's give about a minute longer runtime too. At 3100 you are already overdosed from adrenaline at the 3 minute mark. :D

Bob, is it worth the leap to 5S,
also, I can still use my 4S packs when not using 5S - would that work or is that wishful thinking. Can you switch back and forth?
I like to fly 3D, so I am considering swithing up to 5S,
Also, what pitch range are you running with the 5S and what does your throttle curves look like now,

Well yes you can switch back in forth kind of.... Pinions are the problem but I dont think that will be a problem for long.
With todays Hirobo pinions the 3025-10 is too damn high a head speed on 5S on 24T. The 3025-12 or as Jon has said the Hacker 12 is great on 5S but "fair" on 4S... Yet your T curves are still lowered.
I happen to have a full set of pinions I can now try (18T to 25T) so I will be playing with this soon. I too would like to find a pinion and motor combo for both that is a good setup.

Right now I am running the pinion from Kovi.... The pinions I am testing are from Schumacher Inc. I dont know when he will have them for sale though
