I saw a thread somewhere about this mount that a guy makes to put the gyro under the boom. I have a few questions.

I'll be building a T-Rex450XL HDE. The mount they guy lists for $14 looks like a square piece of plexiglass mounted by a piece of double sticky foam tape.

Is that all it is? I'm asking because I'm economy minded and I have some thick plexiglass already (previous project).

countdown on building my Rexxie continues; just need servo's, batteries, charger, gyro, spares, and Santa to give me a wink so I can open my kit.

My OS max 90 4 cycle will hopefully sell this week so I can pick up my gyro + some odds and ends..

Its funnie that you mentions Ricks inverted gyro mount since I just purchased on for my T-Rex. Actually Ricks mount is a bit more than a piece of Plexiglass, its a been cut specifically fit the XL and theres a piece thats attached to the mount that fits inside the XL boom.

I had a home made gyro mount that did the job but wasnt as good as the mount I got from Rick however. When I mounted my gyro with Ricks mount it just worked, no guessing, no fuss, no muss it worked period.

In my gallery are pics of Ricks gyro mount installed on my T-Rex. Ricks mount is like a belt, I dont know what Id do without one. Heres a link to a thread I posted after I mount Ricks gyro mount and his Finless Fins http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=24770&highlight=

kewl...ty..I didn't know where I'd seen the thread. I just didn't see $14 for a piece of plexiglass. Sounds like I need to get the mount then. I got the link off your post..ty ;)
