hey I almost got a case of fuel out of my clutch lol
I havent flown the 700 for a month, popped it out last night for a quick flight and landed 3/4 the way through the tank tio that metalic pinging noise [what the heck???] once i shut it off it dawned on me what it was.
weird thing is the clutch always engaged early while at a idle, just a weak part I suppose and normal align failure lol atleast i was able to land
looks like ill get a lynx to throw in it this time

outhouse,
I hope the Lynx works well for you. Mine is holding up well after nearly a case since I installed it. :)

I've broke 4 Align clutches, I've had very good luck with the quick uk heavy duty clutch, and I've logged about 40 flights on a Lynx clutch and so far it's holding up very well.

I cant say that one is better than the other, they both seem to work great. I haven't broken one yet.:)

My LE has a Quick UK on it since the initial build back in February without any problems what so ever ;).

Ok so i finally got to tearing down the 700 and luckily just the clutch shoe was tore up. Took apart the motor for couriosity and everything was top notch in that department.
poor helis have taken a backseat while the temp is high here. I spent all last month building this, took 1 month to transfer all my coral from my 100g to this 215g

Jeez, and I thought my 30-gallon was big.
Nice to hear that the inside of the motor looked good. :)

Not near as purdy as your motor lol :) but it was all mechanicaly fine. I flew it on a 100f day 2 weeks ago and it would not idle right and it had got pretty hot so I wasnt sure what I would find today.. just about certain the clutch shoe was cracked and had spread so the idle had to be bumped up to keep the engine running.
before this the shoe was so tight it would even grab at idle so its not all about the gap, my poor 600 has to be almosty half throttle before it grabs and its still holding. it will get a lynx to when it goes

I guess it's time to order a spare clutch to keep in the flight box. I have a spare clutch bell with liner installed just in case I hot start it, but now I'll add an actual clutch to the bin. :)
I havent had a clutch on my 600 last more than 4 gallons.
