Hope to test fly today. Thanks Askman!!
If all geos well today, will be goign with a CC HV-85 ESC so I can dial the headspeed way down for AP. Takes about 10 minutes max to take off the 600 skids and install the Askman mount.
I now have the best of both worlds, a 600 I can fly and have fun with, and a 10 minute migration to Camera Ship. I will keep everybody posted as to how it goes.

great you got it up. you have the first of the V2.0 HD mount. the good thing is that this mount will work with raptor and joker. (I am trying to simplify my inventory) lot of the part interchanges with Large pancam as well. :) not to mention being much stronger than v1.0 it is more machining, but worth it.

Hope to be able to use this mount on my Logo 14 and Razor (when I get it) as well.

as long as LG front/back spacing is between 6.5 to 7.7, it should work without mod. logo 17may be tough, it if is similiar to logo 20, but it can be done with adapter plate. I can also make larger front/back top plate as well. we will cross that bridge, when we get there. :)

Logo 14, it was a typo, :DOH ;)
I'll test fly here in a few minutes with the T-REX, then once my Logo which will maiden today is proven like my 600 is, I'll probably switch to using it as it is RTF about .65 pound lighter than my 600 RTF, and that is with 10s instead of 6s, so it would probably make a better combo with the mount for AP work anyway.

Had some tail issues with the Raptor tail, (the Align comes in tomorrow :DOH) but I got some pics. Looking good.

HAHAHA So far so good, the Logo flew great today, will probably use it instead of the T-REX once I have a few more flights on it.
Overall pretty happy for a first flight.

probably have to set you up with some adapter plate for logo 14. should be easy to do. logo 14 has 5.7" spacing.

Askman,
So the mount that WillJames is using will work on the T-rex and Raptor 30-50 heli's?
askman
12-06-2006, 10:53 AM
yes. any heli with front and back spacing between 6.5 to about 7.7" it is primairly designed to work with 600, raptor and joker, which all have about 7.2" spacing.

Askman,
Is the 600 mount different from the 30/50 Askman mount I currently have?

this is the new v2.0 HD mount. I am moving the whole line to new design in new year. the new design is much stronger, and leg is completely screwed together.
I may be raising price a small amount when it is released, or I may make it partly user assemble and hold price.
I will be offering upgrade chance to v2.0 when it is released. Only the camera gimbal is reusable . price will be about 100 bucks to upgrade. at least that is the plan. I really like this design, and I don't really forsee a change in the LG system for a long time.

Askman,
The new leg design is already in your 360 pano mounts?
If your mount was user put together, I'd be fine with that. Shipping would probably be cheaper due to smaller box, and you would probably save yourself a lot of time with assembling the mounts.
You could just fire up the CNC machines, and then ship them.

I have a taig CNC mill for sale., which can cut 12x5.5 :) $1000 plus shipping. :D paypal me and it is yours tony. I just ordered a bigger machine that can cut 24x36.
I will have it partially assembled most likely, especially the gimbal/center plate. still, it definitely will reduce the shipping box. weight is same, so no save in ship, but easier to store being smaller. also, making things compatible part across the line will help me keep inventory. it does take more machining time though, so it is trade off but I think it is best.

I would offer more kit(s). These mounts are much easier to assemble than our Helis. Just make detail instuctions and save yourself some headaches.

It took about 10 minutes to assemble mine. Thank you. :)

I don't mind doing some assembling, as it reduces questions, not to mentions making sure all the parts are there. :D still, I will definitely be adding more user assembly portions.
