Have checked all the different websites for weather forecasts this AM.

All of them pretty much read the same. It is forecasted to be in the 60's each day of the event. That is about 10-15 degs cooler than it is today and tomorrow. Suppose to rain here Wednesday or Thursday.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are forecasted to be clear.
The Accu weather forecast above is the only one I have seen that has the forecast for the wind. The others are all listing 5 to 10 mph for the wind. Direction is forecasted from the southwest. So that should make it warm temps up quicker each morning.

If your friend arrives in a full size heli. He can land across the road from the event in the pasture. This would be on the south side of the event area. That is where full size helis have landed and took off at past events.

Also for anyone that does not want to stay at the field in an RV. Here is a nice RV park that is only like 7-8 miles away from the event site. It is located at exit 10 on I-459 and the field is located at Exit 6 on I-459. If you have a large motorhome it would be ideal place to stay. They have lots of amenties at the RV park.

The Sleep Inn that is only a couple of miles from the field still has a few rooms left. It is a nice, clean motel. I have obtained a special rate of $50 a night plus tax. Just mention Birmingham Helicopter Modelers when you make the reservation.

Comfort Inn: 205-428-3999 exit 108 on I-59/20
Sleep Inn: 205-424-0000 exit 6 on I-459
(mention heli event at two above for special rate closest to field)

I'm officailly going to have to miss the event this year... Kids without licenses or transportation and too much travel, plus a few newbies at home warrant the bail-out.
Hate to miss it, but it just can't happen.. :(

Got confirmation from ups that we will have 5 v2 trex's arrive tomorrow just in time for Bham. Will also be picking up cool power fuel on the way up. Catch us early before the trex's are gone and remember $10 of each combo goes to help support this great web site. Same deal on trex 600's, but we only have 1 aluminum and 5 carbon.

Clyde,
David Sussman from Atlanta will have some pasteries and cookies for everyone. He gave them away last year and is coming back this year to do the same. I am trying to locate a 30 cup coffee pot so we can have coffee at the field for everyone.
This was some delicious stuff that David furnished last year for anyone that wanted it.
