The 13th Annual Central Alabama Helicopter Fly-In will take place
March 16th-18th 2007.

In past years this has been one of the larger heli events in the USA. 150 plus registered pilots for the last four years. So make plans to attend this event.
I have negotiated a rate of $50 a night plus tax at the Sleep Inn. This is the closet motel to the field. Also about 5 miles from the field the rate for the Comfort Inn is $69.99 a night plus tax. So be sure to mention Birmingham Helicopter Modelers to get these rates. Hope to see all of you at the event.

Event flier and map to field are attached. Teaser Video from last year (http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=11438&)

Bernard,
Yes I took the Days Inn off the list after a couple of people reported to me after staying there last year.
This year the Comfort Inn has offered a rate of $69 a night plus tax. The Sleep Inn still has the rate of $50 a night plus tax. You have to mention Birmingham Helicopter Modelers to get these rates. The Sleep Inn has filled up the last two years for the event. It is the motel that is closest to the field.

Hey Ed! Since you're new to the area, although you've made it to the IRCHA SE event, check out Clintstone's Bday bash listed above. It's about the same drive as B'ham will be. I also sent you a PM

Hey David, I hope you do the same arrangement with the campers as you did last year. Being able to stay on the flight line was a big convenience. I hope to get there early like last year for all the good fun and flying before the hotshots arrive.

Yes I am going to allow campers to set up where they did last year. But this year they will not be parked parralle to the flight line. The end of the trailers/campers/ motorhomes will face the flight line. I believe that will allow more room for everyone.
We will have a little more daylight hours this year. Daylight Savings time goes into effect the March 11th.

Been working on the event the last few days. Sending emails to manufactuers and dealers to get some merchandise donated to give away to the registered pilots.
I have already received several items. All that I have asked are really donating some really nice stuff this year. I already have 3 helicopter kits. And have been told there will be a couple more of the way. So there will be some registered pilots that get some very nice items.

Also there will be some of the top pilots from all over the USA here. Couple of the manufactuers have told me they are sending their sponsored pilots to the event. We will have pilots from the west, northeast, north and south. So should be a great time and some super flying. Looking forward to the event and see everyone. Hope your able to attend and enjoy the event. The last few years we have had 150 plus registered pilots each year. Would be nice to up that number a little this year.
